    Eshel envisions a world where LGBTQ+ people and their families are full participants in the Orthodox Jewish community of their choice. Our mission is to build LGBTQ+ inclusive Orthodox Jewish communities through community building, support services, education for communal leaders, and advocacy within the Orthodox world.

    We are headquartered in New York City with remote staff across the country and a growing network of volunteer-led local groups and affiliates nationwide.


    About the Role

    We are looking for a detail-oriented, highly organized Operations Associate to join our team. This is a full-time, remote role with flexible working hours and availability required for team-wide meetings during Eastern time and occasional in-person staff retreats. The ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and who is excited to support the operational infrastructure of a mission-driven organization.


    Responsibilities

    • Process payments and manage event payments
    • Generate and send tax receipts to donors
    • Conduct mail merges and manage donor/contact communications
    • Create and manage registration forms and manage final program attendee lists including communicating relevant program details to multiple stakeholders
    • Draft flyers and social media assets for events
    • Proofread materials across departments
    • Monitor the general inboxes and route or respond to inquiries
    • Track marketing and operations related tasks in task management software (Asana) to ensure projects are moving forward
    • Schedule email reminders for events and support groups
    • Draft emails about events
    • Create select social media content to support the marketing department (blog posts, recognition of special days, upcoming events/programs)
    • Monitor, Respond to, and escalate social media comments
    • Keep the website current (press updates, homepage, etc.)
    • Maintain and update Linktree

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
    • Excellent written communication and proofreading ability
    • Comfort with technology and ability to learn new tools quickly
    • Experience with or willingness to learn: Microsoft Word, Google Suite, CRM platforms (HubSpot or similar), Depositfix, project management tools (Asana or similar), accounting software (QuickBooks), and WordPress
    • Reliability and timeliness — we count on each other
    • Discretion and respect for confidentiality
    • Familiarity with the Orthodox Jewish and/or LGBTQ+ community is a plus
    • Social media experience is a plus

    Compensation & Benefits

    Salary: $55,000 annually

    • Discretionary Time Off — employees are encouraged to take at least 3–5 weeks per year

    Location & Hours

    Fully remote, open to U.S.-based candidates. This is a 40-hour-per-week role with flexible scheduling and availability required during Eastern time for staff meetings and occasional in-person staff retreats.
