  • LifeWorks Community Action offers volunteer opportunities throughout Saratoga County. Please read the following volunteer position descriptions and let us know which times/positions you are interested in. Once we receive your application we will reach out to you and discuss which position and time will work best based on your interest and our availability. 


    We also offer a substitute position to fill in on days when a position is short staffed. Substitute positions are not regularly scheduled and offered when available.

  • Food Pantry Delivery Coordinator

  • Position description: Pantry delivery coordinators prepare food packages for delivery by volunteer delivery drivers and LifeWorks staff. Coordinators add perishable items to food packages based on customer receipts and arrange packages for delivery drivers based on that driver's arrival time. Coordinators help load driver's vehicles and pass along any relevant delivery information. This position primarily involves working with other volunteers. 

     

    Where: The LifeWorks Community Action Food Pantry. 39 Bath St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020

     

    When: 8:30AM to 11:00AM

     

    Requirements:

    -Ability to stand for 2 hours.

    -Ability to lift approximately 15lbs. 

  • Are you interested in any of the following shifts for the delivery coordinator position?

  • Food Pantry Grocery Packer

  • Position description: Grocery packers collect food items from our pantry shelves to assemble food packages for customers. Packers receive receipts which contain customer orders for the following day. Packages are packed based on those receipts and organized for the following day's service. This position primarily involves working with other volunteers.

     

    Where: The LifeWorks Community Action Food Pantry. 39 Bath St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020

     

    When: 11:00AM to 1:30PM

     

    Requirements:

    -Ability to stand for 2 hours.

    -Ability to lift approximately 15lbs. 

  • Are you interested in any of the following shifts for the grocery packer position?

  • Food Delivery Driver

  • Position description: Volunteer drivers deliver food packages to clients throughout Saratoga County. Drivers arrive at the LifeWorks Food Pantry at their scheduled time and receive food packages and delivery instructions. Drivers deliver the food packages to each address (typically 4 or 5 deliveries per shift) and inform the client when their delivery has arrived. This position involves working with other volunteers as well as with clients.

     

    Where: Start at The LifeWorks Community Action Food Pantry. 39 Bath St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020. Delivery through Saratoga County.

     

    When: 1 to 2 hour shifts with start times between 9:00AM and 11:00AM

     

    Requirements:

    -Valid driver's licence

    -Access to a personal vehicle to use for delivery.

    -Ability to lift approximately 15lbs

  • Are you interested in any of the following shifts for the delivery driver position?

  • Soup Kitchen Assistant

  • Position description: Soup kitchen assistants work with LifeWorks staff to prepare and serve lunch for the homeless and low income population of Saratoga Springs. A volunteer shift involves meal prep, serving meals to guests, and cleanup. This position involves working with other volunteers as well as with clients.

     

    Where: The LifeWorks Soup Kitchen at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ. 24 Circular St, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866

     

    When: 9:30AM to 1:30PM 

     

    Requirements:

    -Ability to stand for 3 hours

    -Ability to lift approximately 10lbs

  • Are you interested in any of the following shifts for the soup kitchen assistant position?
  • Should be Empty:
