  • How this form works

    1. The Authorised Inspector is to use this form when Grounding Equipment;
    2. To Rectify Grounding, the Authorised Inspector is to use the CLICK HERE link on the original form email, SCROLL down to Grounding Rectified and TICK on YES;
    3. The Pilot, the Grounding Officer, and Admin will automatically receive a PDF copy of their application.

    This form is a controlled document, managed by the NZHGPA, under the delegation of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

  • Important Information

    1. Equipment Grounding will occur due to the non-conformance and/or non-compliance with laid down procedures prescribed in the NZHGPA OPM and/or Civil Aviation Rules;  
    2. Grounding notification must be discussed with the Pilot concerned and rectification of the situation should be laid out within a specified time frame;
    3. Grounding will take place on the day of this notification;
    4. HG/PG equipment grounding can only be executed by the Authorised WOF Inspector, CSO, NSO, or the IA;
    5. Where equipment is continued to be used after being grounded, the Pilot using the said equipment may face disciplinary action;
    6. The concerned Pilot has a right to appeal through the NZHGPA Complaints Process;
    7. The Pilot has 28 days to rectify grounding, with the Authorised Inspector using this same form and edit option in email;
    8. If grounding is NOT rectified within 28 days, a full WOF inspection is required.

    A WOF sticker, signed by the Authorised Inspector, must be attached to the glider in a visible place;

    The Authorised WOF Inspector accepts NO RESPONSIBILITY for defects caused after further use of the glider.
