Roundtable Conversations - Self-Care Social™
  • Roundtable Conversation Facilitator Application

  • Self-Care Social™ is Chicago’s premier immersive, multi-sensory experience, designed to create space for guests to rest, recharge and pour into themselves.

Our Round Table Conversations are intimate, guided discussions designed to go deep. Unlike the main stage Wellness Conversations, round tables run in two 25-minute rounds. Attendees choose a table for Round 1, then have the option to stay or move to a different table for Round 2. It’s designed so people can go deep on one topic or explore two conversations that speak to where they are.

We’re looking for facilitators who are comfortable:

    hold space without dominating it
ask questions that open the room and invite honest conversation
read the energy in the room and respond to it
make sure quieter voices have room to be heard
    close the conversation with intention
Tables are filled on a rolling basis. Submission does not guarantee selection. Selected facilitators will be notified via email.

  • The Roundtable Experience

  • Roundtable Conversations at Self-Care Social™ are designed to be intimate, guided discussions that create space for honest, meaningful connection.

Each session includes two 25-minute conversation rounds.

After the first round, guests may choose to remain at the same table or move to a different conversation, allowing them to explore multiple topics based on what they need most in the moment.

Each table will include up to 8 participants and will be guided by a facilitator who helps open the conversation, hold the space, and encourage thoughtful dialogue.

This is not a presentation or lecture. There are no slides and no formal speeches. The goal is to create an environment where people feel comfortable sharing, reflecting, and engaging in real conversation.

  • The Role of a Facilitator

  • As a facilitator, you are there to guide the conversation, not dominate it.

You will open the discussion by briefly introducing yourself, framing the topic, and offering one thoughtful question to guide the group.

From there, your role is to:

    • guide discussion through thoughtful, open-ended questions
    • encourage participation without taking over the conversation
    • read the energy in the room and support a safe, inclusive space
    • listen as much as you speak
    • bring the conversation to a natural pause at the end of each round

You are not expected to teach, perform, or present.

  • The Facilitator Experience

  • Facilitating a roundtable at Self-Care Social™ is an opportunity to lead meaningful, impact-driven conversations within a curated wellness experience.

You will have the opportunity to share your voice, connect authentically with attendees, and be part of a thoughtfully designed experience centered around self-care, growth, and intentional living.

    Facilitator Experience Includes

    • Featured Round Table Facilitator designation
    • Name and selected topic featured on the website and event materials
    • Professional photo and content capture opportunities
    • Complimentary access to the full Self-Care Social™ experience
    • Option to invite one guest
    • Facilitator prep session (virtual)
    • Inclusion in post-event recap and content features
    • Curated networking opportunities with speakers and partners
    • Thoughtful facilitator appreciation gift
    • Priority consideration for future Self-Care Social™ opportunities
  • Before You Apply

  • You will receive your confirmed round table topic and a brief facilitation guide in advance. A virtual prep call will be scheduled before the event to align on format, flow, and logistics.

Facilitators are expected to be present and available for both rounds of the round table session. Please plan accordingly.

Facilitators should plan to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to the start of the session. Exact arrival time will be confirmed in event communications.

Facilitators are also expected to share their participation with their own networks to help amplify the experience.

If you are confirmed and later find yourself unable to attend, please notify us as soon as possible.

Select the conversation you feel most aligned to facilitate.

    1. Are You Taking Care of Your Busy Body?
You manage the meetings, the clients, the deadlines, and the demands, but when was the last time you were intentional about your own health and fitness routine? This roundtable is an honest, judgment-free conversation for busy professionals and entrepreneurs about what it actually takes to stay consistent with your wellness when life never slows down.

    2. Grief: Holding What Hurts
Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and it doesn’t always look the way people expect. This roundtable offers a gentle, honest space to talk about loss in all its forms, the weight of carrying it, and the ways we learn to hold our memories while still moving forward.

    3. The Invisible Load: Caring for Others Without Losing Yourself
Caregiving is one of the most loving things a person can do, and one of the most quietly exhausting. This roundtable creates space to be honest about what it costs, what it means, and what it looks like to care for others without disappearing in the process.

    4. Self-Care for Mothers: Beyond the Bubble Bath
For many mothers, self-care often comes last. This discussion focuses on realistic ways to protect your time, energy, and mental health while navigating work, family, and your evolving identity.

    5. Boundaries, Burnout & the New Rules of Work
Work can be one of the biggest sources of stress in our lives. This roundtable is for professionals ready to talk honestly about burnout, boundaries, and what it actually looks like to protect your mental health while still showing up and performing.

    6. Money on Your Mind: Financial Stress & Emotional Well-Being
Financial pressure is one of the most common sources of stress in people’s lives, and one of the least talked about in wellness spaces. This roundtable creates room for an honest conversation about the emotional weight of money and what it looks like to build a healthier relationship with your finances without shame.

    7. Identity Shifts: Who Am I Becoming?
Career pivots, loss, parenthood, aging, and healing all reshape who you are. This roundtable is for anyone in the middle of becoming, curious about where they’re headed, or still making peace with who they used to be.

    8. Love, Boundaries & Emotional Health: Redefining Relationships on Your Own Terms
Whether you’re partnered, dating, healing from a past relationship, or just trying to figure out what you actually want, this roundtable meets you where you are. We’ll talk about communication, emotional safety, and what it really looks like to build connections that don’t cost you your peace.
