  • Mandatory Safety and Regulations Info when skydiving in Sweden

  • This is a mandatory waiver for all foreign skydivers to read and sign before skydiving in Sweden.

    The content of this waiver is:

    • Information about Swedish parachute safety regulations.
    • Information about Swedish insurance policy.

  • License requirements:

    (SBF 402:01 1.3.1.5)

  • License issued by national parachute organization allows the jumper to jump in Sweden if the license contains the following information:

    • The words "Féderation Aéronautique Internationale"
    • FAI logotype
    • The words "International Parachutist/SkydivingCertificate"
    • The holders name, date of birth, nationality and signature.
    • Date of issue.
    • License degree.

    Note: license must be validated with an ID-card.

    ➤  Jumpers suspended from jumping in another country are NOT allowed to jump in Sweden.

  • Equipment requirements:

    (SBF 403:01 2.2.4)

  • Foreign license holders are allowed to jump with parachute systems, type approved by license issuing national organization, maintained according to SBF regulations. The maximum length of reserve pack is 12 months. In addition, all reserve-packs must be ocularly inspected, by a SFF rigger, after six months of the cycle. Equipment must be presented with a valid packing card stating, date of inspection, repack and certified rigger symbol. Foreign license holders are allowed to jump with skydiving equipment packed and inspected by an approved rigger abroad or a Swedish rigger.

  • Canopy size:

    ➤ All skydivers with less than 1000 jumps experience must follow the wingload chart SBF 402:18

    AAD:

    AAD is mandatory for skydiving in Sweden. All skydivers, all skydives!

    Altimeter:

    Must be worn during all skydives.

    Hook-knife:

    Must be worn during all skydives.

    Audible altimeter:

    Must be worn when wingsuiting, jumping as a camera-flyer or while freeflying and angle flying.

    Helmet requirements: (SBF 1.1.11)

    A helmet must be worn in the aircraft from the point of aircraft moving until an altitude of 300 meters (approx 1000 ft.).

    The helmet must then be worn during all skydives from point of exit until landed.

    All camera mounts must be approved by CI during the "check-in" process to ensure all camera mounts are snag-free. If the camera mount is not "snag-free" the camera and/or helmet must be equipped with a suitable cut-away system fully operational in all different angles. 

    Dresscode:

    Under 100 skydives: Jumpsuit is mandatory. Fullface helmet is allowed after approval from CI.

    Over 100 jumps: Skydivers may use clothing in two parts, as long as no handles can be covered in freefall.

  • Wingsuit

  • Wingsuit skydives requirements are minimum 300 logged jumps and completed "First Flight Course" with an assigned WS-instructor. Signed logbook and qualified to fly suit class:

    • Beginner 0-50 WS-jumps
    • Intermediate 51-200 WS-jumps,
    • Advanced +200 WS-jumps

    ➤ Must use AAD and Audible altimeter.

  • Deployment Altitudes:

    • Lowdeck 700 meters (2500 ft)
    • Highdeck 1500 meters (5000 ft)

    If you wish to deploy higher than 1500 meters (5000 ft) please request permission from the jumpleader and if permitted, inform the load master.

  • Canopy Flying:

  • It is every skydiver's responsibility to make sure that they don't represent a danger to themselves or to others while under canopy. Everyone must be alert and fly his or her canopy in a predictable way, as well as maintain the required vertical and horizontal separation. Don't spiral down past other jumpers or do S-turns when landing.

     

  • High Performance Landings (HPL):

  • According to SBF, the definition of High performance landings (HPL) is:

    All HPL are advanced manouvers. HPL refers to turns intentionally performed to increase the parachutes speed, prior to landing.

    Requirements for High performance landings / Swooping are 300 logged jumps and approval from CI and jumpleader.

  • Flight Patterns:

  • The general flight-pattern used at Swedish Dropzones are a lefthand pattern. Make sure you take part in the Dropzone briefing since there can be different local rules!

  • DZ Authorities:

  • All Swedish Drop zones / clubs have an assigned Chief Instructor (CI), who is responsible for all skydiving operations. Contact information regarding this person is generally found at the manifest.

    Daily operations at the DZ are the responsibility of the Ground Control Officer /Jumpleader who is the commanding officer at site.

  • Insurance policy

  • All foreign license holders are included in the Swedish parachute association's third-party liability insurance policy. Insurance coverage requires all skydiving to be conducted according to SFF policies and regulations such as SBF and SFF doping- and drug policy.

  • Local Restrictions or add-ons:

  • Thus, Swedish clubs are located around the country and there might be differences in local restrictions, although this waiver is considered as a need-to-know document.

    Please contact a local instructor or the jumpleader to gain updates on current local rules and landing areas etc.
