Welcome to Welsh Classes 2026/27
Thank you for your interest in our Welsh language classes for the 2026/27 academic year.
This year, the London Welsh Centre will be undergoing essential building works to help secure the future of the Centre and improve our facilities, ensuring it remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone for many years to come.
We're currently planning for the Centre to close from 12th October 2026. From this date, classes that are normally held in person will move online temporarily while the works take place. As soon as we're able to return to the Centre, these classes will move back to face-to-face teaching.
Our aim is for as many classes as possible to meet in person before the planned closure, giving learners the opportunity to get to know their tutor and classmates. However, this will depend on the final building schedule and room availability. As with any major building project, dates may change slightly, but we'll keep everyone updated and give as much notice as possible.
I'm also exploring alternative venues where we may be able to hold occasional face-to-face classes, conversation sessions and Welsh-speaking social events while the Centre is closed. Although I can't promise how many we'll be able to arrange, I'll do my very best to create opportunities for learners to meet, practise their Welsh and stay connected throughout the building works.
We know that many of our learners value not only learning Welsh, but also the friendships and sense of community that come with attending classes. We'll do everything we can to maintain that throughout this period.
Although the location of some classes will change temporarily, our tutors, course content and commitment to providing a high-quality learning experience will remain the same.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support while we invest in the future of the London Welsh Centre. We have some exciting things to look forward to, including our 90th Anniversary celebrations, and we can't wait to welcome everyone back to the Centre when the works are complete.
