Our Gold Horse prophecy envisions a 5th World of unity within diversity. If and when we are challenged about the legitimacy of our path, how can we respond with respect, sensitivity to historical realities, and clarity about our right to practice our medicine?
This Forum is an opportunity for SMSD leaders to educate ourselves on the topic of cultural appropriation. We’ll discuss our challenges and share our successes when sharing our medicine with others. We’ll look at the sources of our Twisted Hairs knowledge, and consider how to speak about our shamanic tradition to those unfamiliar with it.
How might our path co-exist with tribal peoples in a way that is creatively open and culturally sensitive? We’ll brainstorm about how we might build bridges with native communities as one way to manifest our vision of the 5th World.
This 5.5 hour Forum on July 11th is free, and open to all Leaders on our path. It includes teachings, small group workings, and a presentation by a panel of SMSD leaders with success stories to share. Timing for this event was chosen to best accommodate multiple international time zones. The Forum will be repeated November 21 for all interested apprentices. We hope you can join us!
This Forum is presented by the Respect for Spiritual Diversity committee, initiated by the Board of Directors in cooperation with HLL.
