Fun with Puppets!

May 4 -18 and June 1, 2026 3:30-5:30 PM for ages 6-13. In this class your child can learn how to make cool and CUTE creatures that are puppets! We will start with the basic (but not so basic) socket puppet in week one, and end with a marionette style puppet. Students will learn how to engineer basic household items while considering color, shape, and size. At the end of the last class the students will be able to perform with their puppets. Parents will be invited to show on June 1!

About the instructor: Marisa Companion is an artist and educator who earned an MFA from California Institute of the Arts (2011). She taught high school and k-8 art in New Hampshire and California for the last 15 years. Art education is an important part of her practice, and art community outreach has helped inform the art she creates. Marisa’s work has been featured at Danforth Museum of Art, Framingham, MA, and Art Basel, Miami.
