Sponsoring organizations The Frame Shop and Kodiak Arts Council invite Kodiak artists to submit new original creative work to be included in the Crab Fest Art Show, an official event of Kodiak Crab Festival. We are accepting all contemporary and fine art genre submissions from Kodiak artists completed within the past three years and not previously exhibited at the Crab Festival Art Show. Artwork that can be strongly identified, defined, or perceived as belonging to a distinct culture or cultural tradition must be made by an artist that belongs or identifies as belonging to that culture. The Kodiak Arts Council may ask for clarification to ensure work is not appropriated
The 2026 Art Show will be staged at the Kodiak Harbormaster building in downtown Kodiak May 22nd-May 24th.
Entries must be delivered suitably finished and ready for display. All paper, canvas, weaving or quilts must be framed and/or ready to hang; works of sculpture and ceramics must be ready for display; jewelry must be displayed in a holder or other display apparatus. Reproduced prints of original paintings, matted-only items, or shrink-wrapped pieces will not be accepted.
Artworks submitted must not include AI-generated imagery.
Please complete an online submission form by Friday, May 15, 2026
Complete guidelines can be found online at www.kodiakarts.org/ or www.theframeshopak.com
*** Please note that credit card processing fees will be deducted from any sales. Our system charges 3.5% on all credit card transactions. For example a piece sold for $100 would net the artist $96.50. Please take this into consideration when pricing work.**
The $50 Crab Fest submission fee supports expenses related to staging the show. Due to rising costs, we are unable to waive the fee in exchange for volunteering this year.
