TAP BASIC
Basic Tap class is designed for those with little to no tap experience. Basic steps such as shuffles, flaps and taps will be introduced, along with simple routines that incorporate these elements. The instructor will break down each element providiing clear demonstrations and personalized feedback to ensure everyone understands the technique involved.
This class does not perform on stage.
TAP BEGINNER
TAP LEVEL 1 (1x)
This Beginner Tap class meets once a week and will focus on developing your tap technique with basic steps, rhythm and timing. Short combinations, simple choreography and various styles of tap dancing will be introduced in this class. This is a performing class.
Pre-requisite: Basic tap
TAP LEVEL 1 (2x)
This Beginner Tap class meets twice a week and will focus on developing your tap technique, rhythm and timing. This is for the dancer who has completed a minimum of one year of Beginner Tap. Short combinations, choreography and various styles of tap dancing will be introduced in this class.
Pre-requisite: Basic Tap
TAP INTERMEDIATE
TAP LEVEL 2
Intermediate Tap class where the speed is easy to handle. This class will continue developing the skills learned in beginner tap class with an increase in level of difficulty, rhythm and timing.
Pre-requisite: Level 1 Tap
TAP LEVEL 3 (1x)
This Intermediate Tap class will meet once a week and will focus on all the skills listed in the Level 3 tap curriculum, including musicality, sound, and clarity. This class will be taught at a moderate speed.
Pre-requisite: Level 2 Tap
TAP LEVEL 3 (2x)
This Intermediate Tap class will meet twice a week and continue to develop your skills on a more advanced level, including musicality and sound clarity, focusing on increasing speed and developing style.
Pre-requisite: Level 2 Tap
TAP ADVANCED
TAP LEVEL 4
Designed for students who have already mastered the basics of tap dancing and are ready to delve deeper into the art form. In this class, students refine their technique, coordination, and musicality while learning more complex rhythmic patterns and combinations. Emphasis is placed on precision, clarity of sounds, and expressive footwork. Students in this level are expected to have mastered intermediate level steps, single, double, triple and traveling time steps, riffs, and are ready to be challenged. Material will be taught at a faster pace.
Note: This class will not include any tricks or steps that may be dangerous to senior dancers.
