    Application Period April 1 through April 17, 2026
  • Dear RHS Choir Senior,  

     The Redmond High School Choir Boosters have established a scholarship for graduating seniors to fund post-secondary education (community college, university, vocational/technical school, etc.). Scholarship prizes range between $250-$500. 

    The committee considers the following factors to determine the award. Students may reference other activities, but we prioritize your RHS Choir Program involvement.  

    • Demonstrates leadership within the RHS Choir Program**
    • Provides inspiration to others 
    • Depth of involvement with choir activities at RHS. 
    • Has contributed to the improvement of the RHS Choir Program

    You may exit this application and come back to it -  a link to pick up where you left off will be emailed to you.

    The form will be disabled at midnight on April 17, so please be sure you have submitted it by then.

    **Leadership does not necessarily mean you have held a formal position. The qualities of leaders can include mentorship, contributing ideas, teamwork, attitude/spirit, participation, upholding equity, and more.

    • Scholarship Criteria 
    • This scholarship is awarded to selected graduating seniors according to the following criteria.   

      Minimum Requirements 

      Student must be: 

      • a present or past Redmond High School Choir student;
      • graduating from Redmond High School.  

      Student must demonstrate an intent to undertake post-secondary education either by:

      • having applied to and been accepted for post secondary education (student may not have made a decision yet)
      • indicating a post-secondary education plan to which the funds will be applied within two (2) years from the date of the award.
    • Scholarship Process 
    • The RHS Choir Boosters Scholarship Committee is composed of Choir Booster parents of non-senior students. 

      • The Scholarship Committee Chairperson performs an initial eligibility screening and removes any student names from the application. 
      • The Scholarship Committee (not including the chairperson) reviews and assesses the anonymized applications. 
      • The RHS Choir Director provides non-anonymous input to the Chairperson on applicant involvement with the program.
      • Chairperson combines the Committee’s assessment with the Director's input and facilitates a Committee meeting and anonymous discussion about the applications and assessments. 
      • The Committee in its sole discretion determines scholarship award winners. 
        Decisions of the Scholarship Committee are final.
      • The Chairperson announces the Scholarship winners at the Choir Banquet.

    Please respond to the following short answer essay prompts and questions. Please do NOT include your name anywhere in your  essay responses. Please respond with short, thoughtful answers. Answer thoroughly and concisely, but you will not be penalized for incidental misspelling, grammar and errors. 

    There is a 300 word limit.

    It's sometimes hard to talk about ourselves and we tend to think that we didn't contribute unless we were a lead, or had a lot of friends, or our actions impacted many people. If you aren't sure what to write, ask others in the department how they think you contributed - you might be surprised by what they say.
