Play Development Bursary 2026
  • Play Development Bursaries 2026

    Deadline: 1pm, Friday 1st May 2026
    • How does the selection process work for Play Development Bursaries?
    • Your application is assessed and considered by Playwrights' Studio staff, supported by external artists.

Decisions are based only on what you tell us in your application so do include all information that you think is relevant about yourself, your work and your aspirations for your writing. The panel will use their experience in supporting writers to consider whether this type of support is likely to be of benefit to you in developing as an artist, as well as whether now seems like the right time for you to undertake this support. Unfortunately, every year we receive many more applications than we can support.

Your application won't be judged on how many characters you want to include or how financially prudent your ideas are. Our message to you is not to limit your imagination or feel restricted in the stories you want to tell or how you want to tell them.
