Community Health Corps Montana 2026 - 2027 Host Site Application
  • Community Health Corps Montana 2026 - 2027 Host Site Application

Thank you for your interest in hosting an AmeriCorps member with Community Health Corps Montana.

Community Health Corps Montana (CHCM) engages individuals in meaningful service to Montana through community partnerships to advance sustainable solutions to the state’s most pressing health challenges. Our members serve alongside organizations to strengthen mental health and substance use disorder resources, improve chronic disease prevention and management, and address social drivers of health.

CHCM’s second program year will run from September 14, 2026, to July 30, 2027, with each member completing a 1700-hour term of service.

This application keeps us in compliance with AmeriCorps policy and helps us assess selected sites for alignment, readiness, and potential for shared impact. You can save your progress and download your submission for your records.

    Selection & Placement Process
Due to strong interest and to support successful member placements, CHCM will use an “approved host site” model for this program year.

    Phase 1: Host Site Approval
Applications will be reviewed and scored by CHCM staff and advisory committee members to determine which organizations are approved to host an AmeriCorps member.

Phase 2: Recruitment & Matching (Rolling Placement)
Approved host sites will move into a shared recruitment and matching phase. CHCM will actively recruit and refer candidates, and host sites will participate in interviews and selection.

Member placements will occur on a rolling basis and will depend on:

    • Alignment between candidate interests/skills and host site projects
    • Timeliness of host site engagement in interviews and decision-making
    • Overall readiness to onboard a member

Because placements are made as strong matches are identified, sites that are ready, responsive, and actively engaged in recruitment and interviews are more likely to successfully host a member.

Phase 3: Onboarding & Service Launch
Once a candidate is selected, CHCM will lead onboarding, training, and program compliance to support a successful start.

CHCM anticipates approving more host sites than available member positions. Member placements will occur on a rolling basis as qualified candidates are identified and matched with approved host sites. Once all available member positions are filled, additional approved sites may not receive a placement.

While host site participation in recruitment is not required, active engagement often strengthens candidate matching and can support more timely placement.

  • Member Selection Process

  • Community Health Corps Montana uses a collaborative, values-based member selection process that prioritizes alignment, community need, and thoughtful placement.

AmeriCorps members are recruited, screened, and interviewed by program staff. Host sites conduct interviews with selected pre-screened applicants. Final selection and placement decisions are made in partnership with CHCM and the host site to ensure a strong match between member skills, goals, and host site needs.

    Please answer the following:

  • CHCM will conduct the initial screening and matching process for AmeriCorps member applicants.

If selected as a host site, you will receive 2–3 applicants, per position, who have been matched to your site based on skill, interest, and fit.

We ask that you contact and interview each of these candidates within one week of receiving their information (expected to begin in late June), and then provide CHCM with your feedback and final selection.

CHCM will make all member offers.

  • Acknowledgements

  • By submitting this application, your organization agrees that if selected, you will follow CHCM’s member selection process and collaborate with program staff throughout placement.

    Specifically, host sites agree to:

    • Conduct an interview with each candidate given and provide timely feedback to CHCM staff
    • Evaluate candidates based on skills, lived experience, and alignment with service goals — not solely on formal education or work history
    • Consider how to reduce bias in candidate assessment and contribute to a welcoming interview experience
    • Coordinate all candidate communication and selection decisions with CHCM staff
    • Refrain from making any formal offers directly to candidates — all official AmeriCorps offers will be made by CHCM staff.
