    Submit your theme idea(s) by May 18 for a chance to win $250 and bragging rights!
  • Every year, we have a unique theme for the SHPE National Convention! Here are our themes from the last nine years -

    • 2026 Indianapolis "STEM for the Bold" (block graphics)
    • 2025 Philadelphia "STEM Champions Rise" (city graphics)
    • 2024 Anaheim "Celebrating 50 Years" (palm tree graphics)
    • 2023 Salt Lake CIty "Industrious. Innovative. Inclusive." (bee graphics)
    • 2022 Charlotte "Racing Towards the Future" (race car graphics)
    • 2021 Orlando "The Most Magical Time" (firework graphics)
    • 2020 Denver "Ascend to Transcend" (mountain graphics)
    • 2019 Phoenix "Power of Transformation" (desert graphics)
    • 2018 Cleveland "Better Together" (Cleveland skyline)

    We will be in Houston in 2027 and we hope that our theme for the year will come from one of you - our SHPE members! If your suggestion is selected, you will receive a $250 Amazon gift card and bragging rights.

    There are just a few guidelines for the theme -

    • It should be inspirational and STEM-related.
    • It should be short! A maximum of four words.
    • It should be in English.
    • It cannot be similar to any of the past themes listed above.
    • Extra consideration will be given to themes that -
      • have a graphics idea that ties in
      • have a relationship to Texas

    SHPE members may submit as many unique, thoughtful theme ideas as you have by May 18 at 11:59pm PT. You must be an active member to win. The selected theme will be announced at #SHPE2026.

  • THEME IDEAS

    For each theme you suggest, include the slogan (4 words max) and your ideas for related imagery and any additional notes on why this theme makes sense. If you have variations on the slogan to suggest, please include them with the theme. Each theme should be a unique idea rather than variations on the same idea.

    Example: Racing Towards the Future - race car graphics - tying into Charlotte's NASCAR affiliation. Could also use Racing to the Top, Start Your Engines, Race to the Finish, or Chasing the Flag.
