    Students will investigate local ecosystems through a guided hike along the Flint Creek, exploring how biodiversity, habitat structure, and environmental factors shape the natural world. Along the trail, students will observe real-world examples of species interactions, native and invasive species, and the physical characteristics that define different ecosystems.

    Following the hike, students will participate in hands-on activities that reinforce key concepts related to ecosystem function, biodiversity, and environmental change. Using models and observation-based data collection, students will explore how factors such as habitat loss, species diversity, and human impact influence ecosystem health and resilience.

    This class emphasizes observation, data collection, and critical thinking while connecting local ecosystems to broader environmental systems.

(AMRV RC&D) during the selected class or event. In exchange for acceptance of this participation, I assume all risk and hazards incidental to the conduct of these activities, and release, absolve, and hold harmless AMRV RC&D, along with its officers, agents, representatives, staff, and affiliates, from any and all liability for injuries or damages arising out of traveling to, participating in, or returning from class sessions or program activities.

      In case of injury, I hereby waive all claims against AMRV RC&D, including all staff, participants, sponsoring agencies, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event.
