Phase II
2026 Application Extended Due to Popular Demand!
Applications being accepted from June 22nd to July 6th, 2026.
Program Overview:
The Borough of Wharton Hometown Heroes Banner Program is designed to honor and recognize residents and family members of Wharton who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.
The Program will display weather resistant, double sided, vinyl banners featuring the service member’s photo, name, branch of service, and years of service on Borough light poles throughout town. Placement of the banners will be at the Borough’s discretion. Banners will be approximately 18” x 36" in size. Phase II of this project will accept applications on a first come, first served basis from June 22nd through July 6th, 2026. These banners will be on display through Veterans Day.
Please submit only one honoree per form. While you may include additional information on your application, only certain information will be included on the banners at the Borough’s discretion. Applications are to be submitted online, and you will be notified if your submission was accepted and the photo was in the correct format. Once your application is approved, you will be contacted to submit your $55 banner fee in person at the Wharton Borough Municipal Building, located at 10 Robert Street, Wharton, NJ. Payments must be made within 3 days of approval in order to be finalized. Only cash or checks made payable to the Borough of Wharton will be accepted.
Please complete all sections of this application form. If you require assistance, please contact Sonia Roman at SRoman@whartonnj.com.
*Banners may be returned to the applicant or sponsor after Veteran's Day if a request is made timely.
** Requests to rehang a previously purchased banner in the following year are subject to availability, approval and the banner still being in good condition. Please respond directly to the Municipal Building to complete a “Rehang request application.” Rehanging requests may be subject to a fee.
