Black Love Matters – A Valentine’s Day Exhibit
Artist & Vendor Application Agreement
1. Application Verification
This agreement confirms your application to participate as an official visual artist or vendor at Black Love Matters: A Valentine’s Day Exhibit, taking place in Los Angeles, California, on February 14, 2027.
Black Love Matters is presented by Black Art Matters as a curated celebration of Black love, creativity, culture, artistry, entrepreneurship, and community.
2. Artist & Vendor Requirements
The event will feature visual artists, vendors, food and beverage vendors, treat vendors, nonprofit organizations, community groups, wellness brands, authors, and other creative entrepreneurs showcasing their work, products, and services throughout the day.
The evening will conclude with a catered dinner experience, live performances, and programming for couples and guests who have purchased dinner tickets.
Artists and vendors are responsible for providing any additional display equipment required for their setup, including tables, easels, stands, shelving, signage, lighting, and other materials.
Electrical outlets are available. Please specify any electrical needs within your application so accommodations can be considered during placement.
3. Application Fee
A non-refundable $25 application fee is required for all submissions.
The application fee covers the review and processing of your submission and does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit.
4. Display & Product Guidelines
Visual Artists
Visual artists may exhibit and sell original paintings, photography, mixed media, prints, and other approved artwork within their assigned exhibition area.
The standard visual artist participation rate is $333.
For this application period, $111 of the participation fee is being waived, bringing the visual artist participation rate to:

There is no commission collected on artwork sales. Artists retain 100% of their artwork sales.
Final wall placement and exhibition space will be determined by the Black Love Matters curatorial team based on the dimensions, quantity, presentation, and overall visual relationship of the submitted work to the exhibition.
Vendors
Vendors may display and sell approved products and services within their purchased booth size of 6x6, 10x10, or 12x12.
All displays must remain within the participant's assigned area. Requests for oversized installations, additional display space, or specialized setups must be approved in advance.
5. Liability
Black Love Matters, Black Art Matters, its organizers, staff, venue partners, and affiliates are not responsible for loss, theft, damage, accidents, injuries, or incidents involving a participant's artwork, merchandise, equipment, displays, or personal belongings.
Artists and vendors are responsible for the security, installation, operation, and breakdown of their own materials and products.
Our team will provide reasonable assistance where possible, but all participants assume responsibility for their own property, merchandise, artwork, equipment, and displays.
6. Event Schedule
Early Setup:
Artists and vendors will have access to the venue beginning the day before the event for early setup and installation preparation.
Additional setup time will continue during the first half of the event day to provide participants with ample time to complete their installations and prepare their spaces.
Art Viewing & Sales:
3:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Dinner & Performances:
6:30 PM – 10:00 PM
Breakdown:
Vendors and artists may begin breakdown at 10:00 PM.
Additional arrival, setup, load-in, parking, and venue instructions will be provided to confirmed participants closer to the event date.
7. Registration & Participation Fees
Participation is voluntary. Artists retain all rights to their artwork, and vendors retain all rights to their products, businesses, and sales.
Once accepted, the applicable registration fee must be paid in full within 72 hours of acceptance to officially secure your placement.
Locations are assigned by the Black Love Matters team based on booth size, artwork dimensions, installation requirements, brand presentation, and the overall curatorial layout of the event.
Special front-of-venue or premium placements may carry an additional fee of $111 and are subject to availability and approval.

Participating visual artists will receive placement within a professionally curated exhibition environment, cultural visibility through Black Art Matters and our social platforms, access to a high-foot-traffic audience, photography and video documentation of the event, and inclusion within an immersive atmosphere featuring art, live performances, installations, and community-centered programming.
Artists retain 100% of the proceeds from artwork sold during the event.

12x12 Vendor Booth
Price: $475
The 12x12 booth option is available for approved food, beverage, and treat vendors requiring additional operating space.
All vendors and artists must submit the $25 application fee and select their requested booth or wall-space option to complete their application.
Application decisions and confirmation emails will generally be sent within 24 hours of completed submission and payment of the application fee.
8. Refunds & Cancellations
All application and registration fees are non-refundable.
Optional promotional post fees and additional placement fees are also non-refundable.
In the event of circumstances outside of the organizers' reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes, public health emergencies, venue emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances, Black Love Matters reserves the right to postpone or reschedule the event.
If the event is rescheduled under these circumstances, participating artists and vendors will receive a credit toward the rescheduled event or another eligible Black Art Matters event.
9.
Artists and vendors may use the Black Love Matters: A Valentine’s Day Exhibit event name when promoting their confirmed participation.
Participants may also submit approved promotional materials, including business cards, flyers, coupons, and other branded materials, for potential inclusion in attendee materials or designated promotional areas.
By participating in the event, artists and vendors acknowledge that photography and video documentation may take place throughout the event and may be used by Black Love Matters and Black Art Matters for event recaps, social media, promotional materials, marketing, and documentation.
10. Agreement
By signing and submitting this agreement, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to the terms outlined above and confirm your intent to participate in Black Love Matters: A Valentine’s Day Exhibit upon official acceptance and completion of the applicable participation fee.
Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Final participation and placement are confirmed once the applicant has been officially accepted and all required fees have been received.
