  • Welcome to the Traditional Arts and Culture Fund!

  • Traditional Arts and Culture Fund (TACF) is a fund devolved from Creative Scotland, managed by TRACS (Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland), and is open to individuals and organisations.

    The Fund is designed to provide support for traditional artists, craftspeople and organisations to create, perform, tour and showcase work.

    Applications from eligible individuals and organisations of between £250.00 (min.) and £1200.00 (max.) are invited. The deadline for receipt of applications is midnight on Monday 11th May 2026.

  • Please provide further details of the project for which you are seeking support, including the minimum information outlined below under the two separate headings (Project Quality/Need and Project Delivery), and any other information which you believe would strengthen your application

  • 1. Quality of / need for the Project:

    • Why you would like to engage in the project/work
    • Who will be involved in and/or benefit from the project/work
    • Where the project/work will take place and when
  • 2. Delivery of described outcomes and benefits:

    • What outcomes you seek to achieve through the project/work
    • Whether the project/work will create a legacy of some kind
  • Section 4: Environmental Sustainability

  • Please tell us, in up to 150 words, how your project will promote good practice in  environmental sustainability, or how you will mitigate the effect of your work on the environment

    Responses to this question will not be scored but applicants must nevertheless articulate their consideration of sustainable ways of working.

  • Section 5: Managing Risk

  • Please detail up to three risks which could affect your ability to carry out the proposed project. This is to show us you have considered how work may be carried out safely and in line with good practice.

    Include the following for each risk:

    • What is the risk you've identified?
    • What's your assessment of the risk? (High, Medium or Low)
    • How will the risk be controlled?
    • In the light of your control, has your risk assessment changed?

  • Please submit a balanced budget:

    1. Income must match expenditure
    2. Include details of all match funding - including the amount requested from the Traditional Arts & Culture Fund
    3. Include evidence of 10% generated income: note that this can include, in addition to direct sales (products or tickets) in-kind costs for e.g. fees, materials, R&D time etc.

  • By signing this application, you agree that:

    1. Having read the guidelines, you are satisfied that
      • you are eligible for funding
      • your application is in line with the aims of Traditional Arts and Culture Fund
      • you have read and agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions

    2. If required, a member of TRACS or its appointed advisers may contact you for further information to help with the decision-making process.

    3. If you are successful in securing a grant, you will provide a short report on the funded project, using the requisite form (to be supplied). Information and quotes from this feedback may appear in TRACS and Creative Scotland publications or be used in an online case study.

    4. If you are successful in obtaining a grant you will acknowledge the support from Traditional Arts and Culture Fund in all related print, publications, annual reports, press releases and other materials as appropriate. Please email marketing@tracscotland.org to request logos and guidance for their use.

    5. The information provided in the application is correct to the best of your knowledge and you will notify (and agree) any changes to your project proposal with TRACS.

    6. Your consent is given for the information provided to be retained and used by TRACS to enable it to fulfil any legal or contractual obligation, in line with its Data Privacy Notice.

    7. Any insurance liabilities that may arise from the activities funded remain the responsibility of the applicant. You are advised to ensure appropriate cover is in place and you hereby indemnify TRACS and Creative Scotland against any claim arising from your activities.

    8. Any payment made will be returned if
      1. the project does not take place within 6 months of the original start date proposed
      2. the funds are not used as described or
      3. a report is not submitted within the prescribed period as advised with your award.
