VBS Adult Volunteer Application
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Vacation Bible School! Assignments will be emailed out in early May. We do our best to accommodate everyone's first choice.

VBS will take place June 1-4 at St. Patrick Church of Merna (1001 N Towanda Barnes Rd., Bloomington). Volunteer hours are 5:30-8pm each night.

Please add the email jenny@mheparish.org to your contacts or check your spam folder if you haven't heard anything about your assignment by early May. Packets with detailed information and t-shirts will be available to pick up in mid-May.

VBS Volunteer T-Shirt Policy

For safety reasons, every volunteer MUST wear a VBS shirt each night of VBS. All counselors must purchase the 2026 shirt to match their group. Other volunteers must purchase a gray VBS shirt that can be worn multiple years. If you are not sure if you need to purchase a VBS shirt or not, please reach out to Jenny Cook prior to completing your payment on the next page.

Team Descriptions

Counselor Team: One of our most important volunteer opportunities. You MUST be available EVERY night of VBS. You will be teamed up with other counselors to guide a group of children through VBS each night. You will have an excellent opportunity to get to know the children, and help them learn about the goodness of God.

Craft Team: Let your creative juices flow! You will help our kids complete their crafts each night and also guide them through an interactive learning activity to reinforce their Bible lesson for the evening.

Games Team: Always a big hit for our children! You'll explain the games to the children and help them enjoy high energy activities!

Snack Team: Help each night with assembling and distributing snacks and drinks, clean up, and prepare for the next evening.

Survivor Team: This is an opportunity to work with 5th and 6th grade kids! This is a very interactive, high-energy program!
