Ready to kick‑start your journey to homeownership? Fill out this application to join Homeowner College and get started.
Our Habitat for Humanity program has two phases:
Phase I: Homeowner College
Phase II: Construction
The best part? You don’t have to buy a Habitat home to join us. Homeowner College is open to everyone in Abilene. We partner with awesome local financial pros and businesses to bring you practical, confidence‑boosting classes in financial literacy and home maintenance. If you’re just here to learn and level up, we’re excited to have you.
By showing up for classes and meeting with us each month, you’ll also be taking real steps toward becoming pre‑approved for a home loan. Every class gets you closer.
If you are hoping to purchase a Habitat home, completing Homeowner College and attending monthly Partner Family meetings are required before moving into the Construction Phase. We’ll be cheering you on the whole way.
We’re currently accepting applications for our Fall 2026 Cohort, starting September 12, 2026. Application deadline: July 31st!
Homeowner College Requirements
- Anyone in your household 18 or older needs to attend classes. (Yes—bring your adult kids! Financial literacy is for everyone.)
- A $25 application fee (per household) is due when you apply. If you are pursuing a Habitat home, your fee will go toward your down payment once you’re pre‑approved for a loan.
