On September 2, 2025, the SF Chronicle reported that SFMTA’s CFO directed all divisions within the agency to reflect 5 to 7% cuts in the 2026 budget cycle. To date, no confirmed update has reflected any public-facing evidence of budget cuts since the directive, thus SFMTA still faces an unwavering $307 million deficit. A directive is meant to be followed by action.
Let SFMTA know it’s time to act to turn that directive into a reality that will be welcome news to all SF taxpayers.
