About Our Programs
Program Options:

These following programs are for children that are current in their sacramental preparation and have been continuously enrolled in religious education.

1. Elementary Education (Grades K-5)
2. Edge Middle School Program (Grades 6-8)
3. Life Teen Youth Group (Grades 9-12)*

*There is a special program for teens that are already Confimed within the Life Teen Program, so please enroll your teen in this program regardless of sacramental status.

The cost of religious education programs at St. James is $95 per child for 2026-2027.

Sacramental Programs:

Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist Preparation:

If your child is already baptized, in 2nd grade, and in their second year of faith formation (either at St. James, another Catholic school or parish, or an approved Catholic Home School program), then they are eligible for sacramental preparation for Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist in the Spring of 2nd grade. They must be enrolled in the 2nd grade religious education program, attain 70 percent attendance, and attend a mandatory 1/2 day retreat with their parents at the parish.

Cost: $40 per child

Confirmation

If your teen has already received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism and Holy Eucharist), is in at least the 10th grade, and is in their second consecutive year of faith formation (either at St. James, another Catholic school or parish, or an approved Catholic Home School program), then they are eligible for sacramental preparation for Confirmation. Candidates must have 70 percent attendance for BOTH years of consecutive attendance, attend a mandatory overnight retreat, and eight mandatory Confirmation classes in the Spring of the second year. 10th grade Confirmations at St. James are generally held on the first Wednesday evening in May.

Cost: $350 per teen, includes overnight retreat and other costs of Confirmation

Sacramental Program Options for "Catch-Up":

These are grade level appropriate programs for those that are behind in their sacramental preparation or for those entering the Catholic Church.

1. Elementary OCIC (Adapted for Children) (Grades 3-5)
2. Middle School OCIC (Adapted for Children) (Grades 6-8)
3. Teen OCIC (Adapted for Teens) (Grades 9-12)

The cost for OCIC programs for 2026-2027 is $95.
