Standing Ovation Theatre – Newsies Audition Form
Thank you for auditioning for Newsies! We are so excited for you to see your auditions. Dance Auditions will be held at Standing Ovation Theatre on May 16th from 10:00 - 2:00 PM in an hour long slot. Singing and acting audition appointments are available May 16th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and May 22nd-23rd. Callbacks will be on May 24th with selected appointments during the week. If you are unavailable during these times, we can schedule alternative times through zoom or at the theatre. Dance auditions are required as are singing and acting auditions. If cast, adult actors will be asked to submit a background check for the safety of all minors involved. We appreciate you and look forward to seeing your amazing audition! Thank you so much!

Acting / Singing Audition Appointment
Please prepare a 1 minute monologue and a small section of a musical theatre song . Please bring an accompaniment recording with you as no pianist is available at this time. Songs and monologues should be memorized and rehearsed. The director may have you make acting adjustments to either piece you have rehearsed after you have performed it once.

Dance Audition Appointment
No preparation needed. Just come dressed to move. All parts, except for the older adults need to sign up for a dance time slot (Pulitzer, Nunzio, Wiesel, Medda, Etc). Up to 15 people per slot. Please do not select a time that overlaps with your singing and acting timeslot. They can be on the same day, however.

Scheduling Conflicts
Rehearsals start on Friday May 29th and will run until the show opens on July 17th. Rehearsals will be Mon-Wed, Fri 7:00-9:30 and Saturday from 10:00-2:00 PM. There will also be selective Sunday rehearsals for principal roles or Newsies. Only people called to a rehearsal will be needed for that rehearsal. (For example if Jack and Katherine have a rehearsal together the rest of the cast will not be there). Please list as many known conflicts on this form so I can create the schedule as accurately as possible when we start.
