    What does “We the People” mean to you?

    As the United States celebrates its 250th year, (Un)Known Project invites you to reimagine the preamble of the Constitution through your own voice, your own truth, and your own lived experience.

    For generations, those words have defined who belongs. This anthology asks a different question: who has been left out, and what would it look like to write ourselves back in?

    We are seeking original poems and prose that respond to, challenge, or re-envision the preamble. This is an opportunity to reflect on justice, freedom, belonging, and the future we are still fighting to build as we consider what 250 years of this nation have meant and what the next 250 could become.

    Please submit your work for consideration in our upcoming anthology.

     

     

  • Submission Guidelines

    • Poetry or prose accepted

    • Prose must be 750 words or less

    • One submission per author - either poetry or prose.

    • Original, unpublished work only

    • Open to writers of all backgrounds and experience levels

    • Authors retain full copyright of their work. By submitting, you grant (Un)Known Project non-exclusive permission to publish your piece in the We the People anthology and to use excerpts for promotional purposes, with full credit to the author

    We are accepting submissions during April - National Poetry Month! Submissions will be accepted through April 30, 2026.  

    Each contributor whose work is selected for the anthology will recieve 5 printed copies of the book after publication.
