    Two recommendation forms are required as part of your application. Please provide the names and email addresses of two individuals (not family members) who know you well and can speak to your interests, strengths, and goals.

    FORGE NEMS will contact them directly to complete a short recommendation form on your behalf.

    Great options include:

    - Teachers
    - Coaches
    - Mentors
    - Volunteer coordinators or supervisors
    - Job supervisors (babysitting, part-time jobs, etc.)
    - Pastors
    - Scout or club leaders

    Choose people who have seen your work ethic, attitude, and growth—we want to learn more about you! 😊

    Tip: Be sure to ask each person for permission before listing them so they can expect our email.


    What should I say when I ask someone?
    You can keep it simple! Here’s an example:

    Hi [Name], I’m applying for the FORGE NEMS Girls Construction Camp and was wondering if you’d be willing to be a reference for me. They’ll send you a short recommendation form by email. It would really mean a lot to me—thank you!
