The Copello Fellowship program is an opportunity to learn advocacy skills and build leadership for medical students, residents, practicing physicians, and retired clinicians. DFA's Copello Fellows learn from experts and from each other about advocacy, action planning, creating testimony, engaging with legislators, media relations and more. All you need is a willingness to learn and the desire to make a difference!
You must be able to attend monthly advocacy leadership meetings (2nd Thursday of each month from 5:00 - 6:15 pm PT / 8:00 - 9:15 pm ET), participate in Impact Area monthly subcommittee meetings, and create a Capstone project and video showcasing the work and results of what you’ve done and accomplished within an assigned Impact Area. (Time commitment 1 - 2 hours per week.)
