The Pitt on MAX has become a worldwide phenomenon showcasing some of the most realistic depictions of working in healthcare, specifically in the emergency room, on television. This show has touched the hearts of so many and has led to conversations around the conditions of healthcare, meaningful work and bearing witness to suffering.
Themes in this show include grief, loss, end of life, workplace violence, substance use, PTSD and more core facets of the human condition. Something this show also does is highlight the toll of systemic neglect, exploitation, discriminatory violence, racism and injustice amplified by corporate greed.
Healthcare workers across the world have shared that this show has made an impact on them, voicing feeling seen for the first time. We acknowledge that this show can also be very triggering for healthcare workers as these realistic depictions reflect what they navigate every single day in a system that often does not consider our own needs.
Don't Clock Out is an organization led by healthcare workers navigating the impacts of moral distress. With this, we thought it would be meaningful to gather the healthcare community to watch the finale and engage with one another in discussion through a live chat the night of the finale.
What to expect: We will have a 15 minute opening session introducing ourselves and the resources we offer and a closing session to reflect on the finale and share future plans for workshops related to the themes covered in this show! There will also be prompts sent ahead of the session for you to journal on your own time as well as prompts shared in the chat in real time for guided reflection. Throughout the finale, we hope to laugh, cry and process together, in community.
When: The finale begins Thursday, April 16th at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET

Where: You will be sent a Zoom webinar link ahead of the finale night!
What should I bring: Paper, pen, popcorn, blanket, tea (get cozy if you can!) if you are at work, maybe try to stream it in your breakroom!
