  • Akron Middle Schoolers - If you are creative, adventurous, caring, and a little mischievous, get ready to make a positive change in the community at Camp Explore: City Changers! 

    This 4-day summer adventure invites middle schoolers to find the hidden gems on each block, transform boring spaces into beautiful spaces, help neighbors in need, create fun for neighbors of all ages of neighbors, connect with local legends and rising stars, and give back to their neighbors through their creativity by popping up murals, supporting local businesses by being social media influencers, serving their neighbors by creating helpful handout bags, and creating summer fun with their friends by running their own block party!

    Camp Explore: City Changers is free to middle schoolers and their families, thanks to the generous support and funding from the City of Akron. 

    At the end of this registration form is a medical form. Please have ready:

    This event is a function of the nonprofit organization TomTod Ideas and the Stark County Manufacturing Workforce Development Partnership. In the following statements, program staff refers to all full-time, part-time, and seasonal TomTod staff.

    • I give permission for my child to participate in TomTod programming.
    • I give permission for program leadership to photograph/video/record my child and/or myself and to use those images/likeness/stories in promotional materials, including future materials for TomTod Ideas.
    • I give permission for program staff to transport my child during these activities.
    • I give permission for program staff to make necessary decisions in any medical emergency involving my child.
    • Program staff may employ outside evaluators to observe various activities throughout programs to provide input and/or create reports on programmatic efficacy.
    • I give permission for program staff to dispense medications as directed in the Medical Release Form.
    • I release TomTod Ideas, its staff members, and its partners from any liability for any injury to my child from participation in program activities.
    • My child agrees to respect all guidelines given by program staff related to behavior throughout TomTod programming.
    • Any behavioral problems that arise are subject to removal of my child from the event or appropriate disciplinary action.
