We are looking for a motivated candidate to join our long-term rehabilitation and release research program at our release site, Bosque Escondido, in the dry tropical forest of the Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica. This position is designed for individuals who want to gain professional-level work experience to strengthen their CV.
As a Research Assistant, you will actively contribute to ongoing projects working towards peer-reviewed scientific publications. This position offers significant research responsibilities along with personalized professional training.
In this role, you will primarily focus on either primates or psittacines, taking on the title of Primate Research Assistant or Psittacine Research Assistant accordingly. Our work centers on several key species, including spider monkeys, howler monkeys, and white-faced capuchins, as well as scarlet macaws, yellow-naped and white-fronted parrots, and both orange-fronted and orange-chinned parakeets. In addition to these focal species, we occasionally release other animals, which you may have the opportunity to work with.
