• Registration Form: W1: Shaping Polar Science: Collaboration, Inclusion, and IPY 2032-33

As the 5th International Polar Year (IPY 2032–33) approaches, this interactive workshop will bring together the polar research community to discuss priorities and opportunities for a scientifically ambitious, inclusive, and collaborative IPY.
  • The session will explore four thematic areas: POLAR 2030 planning, science and peace in Antarctica, institutional structures and research practices, and diversity, equity and inclusion (EDI).

Following brief introductions, participants will join breakout discussions to exchange perspectives, identify key priorities and challenges, and develop recommendations for inclusive participation, capacity building, equitable research practices, and stronger Arctic–Antarctic collaboration.

Registration is not mandatory, but we encourage participants to register to help us estimate attendance and understand which thematic areas are of particular interest.

This will make it easier for us to organise the breakout sessions and ensure that discussions reflect participants’ interests and expertise.
