  • Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a fee associated with having the Mobile STEM Learning Center attend my school?

There is no cost associated with having the Mobile STEM Learning Center visit your school.

Who can participate in a Girl Scouts Mobile STEM Learning Center program?

Anyone! We will provide free STEM programming to all children in kindergarten through 8th grade.

What does a Mobile STEM Learning Center program look like?

Most programs are 30-45 minutes long. Within that timeframe there is usually a discussion about the topic we are learning about and then we proceed with a fun hands-on educational activity!

What type of programming do you offer?

We offer a variety of hands-on STEM programming in geology, biology, and technology. Our lessons include interactive experiences such as 3D printing and 3D pen activities, as well as explorations of rock and fossil specimens, microscopes with prepared slides, and insects preserved in acrylic. Students can also engage with human anatomy using a life-size torso model that can be taken apart and reassembled. Our programs are flexible, and lessons can be adjusted to connect with topics students are currently studying in the classroom.

Will the Mobile STEM Learning Center be in my area?

We serve all of Montana and Wyoming. We will do our best to accommodate all schools that wish to participate with us, and if we don’t catch you this year, we hope to be in your area soon.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us at stem@gsmw.org.
