    Of significant value, we hope all our summer pilot participants will not only benefit but also contribute their time and learnings to enhance future JMU ETA cohorts.

  • 3-Week Core Program

    A focused, immersive learning experience designed to build foundational and applied skills over a concentrated three-week period. This program combines structured instruction, collaborative work, and hands-on application.

  • Business Owners

    For small-medium business owners considering growth or exit through acquisition.

    Participants will leave with an understanding for how to prepare (or stage) their businesses for an eventual exit, and with the transaction literacy to confidently navigate the process of selling their business for optimal results when the time is right.

     

    • 3-day workshop in late June or August

    Owners who complete the program gain access to trained Acquisition Entrepreneurs and Owner-GM Apprentices, as well as to JMU student groups matched to support strategic projects, with ongoing support provided by the JMU Gilliam Center for Entrepreneurship.

  • Acquisition Entrepreneurs

    For MBAs and mid-career professionals seeking to acquire and grow existing companies.

    Participants will leave with a clear roadmap for pursuing an acquisition, including search strategies, acquisition criteria, financing strategies and future leadership. 

     

    • Starts on Tuesday, June 2 from 4–7pm, 1-hour opening plus a 2-hour class.
    • Live instructor led classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 5–7pm.
    • Ends on Thursday, June 18 with class immediately followed by a reception at 7pm open to all.

  • Owner-GM Apprentices

    For undergraduates and recent graduates seeking to work with owners and learn from them how to run their businesses with the aim to eventually acquire. 

    Participants will leave with a clear understanding of ETA and tools to secure internships and GM-trainee jobs to eventually pursue ETA as a career path.

     

    • Starts on Tuesday, June 2 from 12–3pm, 1-hour opening plus a 2-hour class.
    • Live instructor led classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-3pm.
    • Ends on Thursday, June 18 with class followed by a reception at 7pm open to all.

  • 2-Month Flex Program

    A flexible, largely self-directed learning experience designed for participants who want to engage deeply with the material on their own schedule. This format combines asynchronous content with select touch points and a shared completion milestone.
    • This option is available to all cohorts, beginning June 29 and ending September 3.
    • Largely asynchronous (online), we will provide course materials and instructor-led recordings for all modules, with office hours for added live instructor support.

  • 3-Day Intensive Program

    Our core 3-week program condensed into a deep-dive, fast-paced 3-day intensive for Business Owners and Acquisition Entrepreneurs seeking to gain immediately applicable training on how to buy and sell companies.
    • This option is available to Business Owners only.
