  • Thank you for signing up for our July 25th Hero Like Her Summer Camp!

    This Day is dedicated to our female teenage campers ages 13-18 ONLY.

    We are excited to host another fun and empowering experience for your child.

    Please review the following important information:

    What time is Camp?

    *Arrive by 8:30am sharp for sign-in*​

    Camps run from 9am-2:30pm

    Where is the camp located?

    SAFD Fire Training Academy 300 S Callaghan Rd, San Antonio, TX 78228

    Lunch: We will be providing hot dogs and chips. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please send a lunch with them.

    Attire: All participants must arrive in workout attire with closed-toe tennis shoes. No Crocs, slippers, or slides are permitted.

    For safety reasons, if proper footwear is not worn, you will be asked to pick up your child.

  • The City of San Antonio thanks you for participating in the San Antonio Fire Department Training Academy Summer Camp. We hope that the summer camp turns out to be a fun, memorable and educational experience for all participants. To help us keep participants safe during this experience we ask that you tell
    participants to closely follow all instructions and precautions and to promptly report any concerns to Fire Department staff.

    To allow participation in the HERO LIKE HER Camp on July 25, 2026, at the San Antonio Fire Department Training Academy you will need to read and sign the following release. By signing release, you acknowledge that if anyone is hurt or property is damaged or lost during your son/daughter's participation in HERO LIKE HER camp, a court of law may find that you have waived your or your son/daughter's right to maintain a lawsuit against the CITY on the basis of any claim from participation in HERO LIKE HER.

    PARTICIPANT RELEASE
    I, ______________ , acknowledge that my son/daughter's participation in the SAFD Summer Hero Like Her Camp is voluntary and that my son/daughter's participation in CAMP HERO may include i) activities with known or unanticipated risks that may result in injury to the participant or to third parties or ii) damage or loss to my son/daughter's property.
    I KNOWINGLY ASSUME ALL RISKS, KNOWN AND UNANTICIPATED, ASSOCIATED WITH MY SON/DAUGHTER'S PARTICIPATION IN CAMP HERO, AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HE/SHE MAY BE INVOLVED IN ACTIVITIES WITH RISKS OF INJURY, AND DO HEREBY RELEASE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE THE CITY, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, ITS SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS, OFFICERS, AGENTS, SERVANTS, AND EMPLOYEES FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, DAMAGES, ACTIONS, AND CAUSES OF ACTIONS, WHATSOEVER, WHETHER SUCH ARE FOUNDED IN WHOLE OR IN PART UPON THE ALLEGED NEGLIGENCE OF THE CITY, ITS AGENTS OR EMPLOYEES, WHICH I, MY HEIRS, OR PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES MAY EVER HAVE ARISING OUT OF, BY REASON OF, OR IN ANY MANNER HAVE GROWN OUT OF ANY INJURIES OR DAMAGES SUSTAINED BY ME/SON/DAUGHTER BY REASON OF ANY ACCIDENT OR OTHER OCCURRENCE RESULTING FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE ACTIVITY.
    In signing this release:
    • I am relying wholly upon my own judgment, belief, and knowledge;
    • I have had sufficient opportunity to read this entire document;
    • I read and understand it, and I agree to be bound by its terms.

  • SAFD Photograph Authorization and Release Form

  • Regarding: (Participant Name) I give the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD) permission to use my name or minor child’s name, likeness, image, voice, and/or appearance in any pictures, photos, video recordings, audiotapes, digital images created while participating in Hero Like Her Camp by or in coordination with the SAFD. I agree that the SAFD has ownership of such pictures and may use them for any legitimate purpose consistent with the SAFD’s mission. These uses include, but are not limited to illustrations, bulletins, exhibitions, videotapes, reprints, reproductions, publications, advertisements, social media posts and any promotional or future educational materials in any medium including the Internet. I acknowledge that I or my minor child will not receive any compensation for the use of the pictures and release the SAFD, the City of San Antonio and its agents from any claims that may arise out of the use of the photo or recording as described in this Authorization and Release. I have read and understand this Authorization and Release. I give my consent to the SAFD to use my minor child’s name, voice and likeness to promote programs, and/or their activities.

  • SAFD Camp Anti-Bullying Policy

  • Our camp is dedicated to providing a safe, civil environment for all campers and staff, free from any form of harassment, intimidation, or bullying.

    Definition: "Harassment, intimidation, or bullying" refers to any intentional written, verbal, or physical act that:

    •Physically harms a camper/staff member or damages their belongings.

    •Substantially interferes with a camper's or staff member's duties.

    •Creates an intimidating or threatening camp environment through severe,persistent, or pervasive behaviors.

    •Substantially disrupts daily camp operations. 

    Prohibited Behaviors:

    •Bullying or harassment of any kind is not tolerated, regardless of race, sex, orother physical or emotional characteristics.

    This includes, but is not limited to:

    •Slurs, rumors, and demeaning comments

    •Jokes and innuendos•Pranks and gestures

    •Physical attacks and threats

    •Any other written, oral, or physical actions intended to harm others.

    Note: "Intentional acts" refer to the individual's willful choice to engage in the behavior, rather than the impact of their actions.

    Consequences:
    Any form of bullying will result in expulsion from the program.

    Parent/Guardian Agreement:
    As a parent/guardian, I commit to:
    •Encouraging my child to respect others.
    •Instructing my child not to bully or support bullying.
    •Advising my child to report any bullying to Camp Staff.

    By signing, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to abide by this policy.
