    Carbondale Arts
  • The Artist Grant Program (AGP) is made possible through The Wolfpack Foundation, anonymous donations in honor of Alleghany Meadows, and Carbondale Arts members.

Please read the following instructions, requirements, and important dates when completing this application. Please email staci@carbondalearts.com with questions or call the Carbondale Arts office at (970) 963-1680.

The deadline for this application is Monday, June 1, 2026 by 11:59pm.

The Carbondale Arts Grant Program will award $12,000 in scholarships in 2026; successful applicants will each receive a minimum of $1,000 and up to $3,000 in awards.

The Artist Grant is intended to support the execution of a project or a growing artist's creative practice. We want to fund artists and works that are at an inflection point, in order to help bring the work or artist into the next phase of growth.

The uses are limitless, but the requests should be specific. Successful grant applications have a very clear explanation of how the funds will make something possible that may not otherwise be possible.

Any artist residing within a ZIP code beginning with "816" may apply.

    Applications are evaluated based on:

Artist Impact: Will the funding significantly impact the artist and their work?
Feasibility: Is there a clear and realistic plan?

In addition, applications that demonstrate high levels of creativity, inclusivity, and community impact are encouraged.

Community Impact: will the funding contribute to the creative, cultural, or economic vitality of the artist’s community?

Creativity and Innovation: Does the proposal offer a new and exciting opportunity in the community?

Inclusive and engaging: Does this project invite broad community participation?

    Use of Funds:
Funding can be used for supplies, space rental, workshop fees, or any cost associated with the artist’s work – but should be described in a way that makes it clear that this funding will make an impact.

These grants help further the mission of Carbondale Arts (building community through art), the vision of the Carbondale Creative District (nurturing collaboration and innovation within the creative industries) and to honor Alleghany Meadows, who has contributed so much to furthering the arts in Carbondale.
