Precision Sheep Management (PSM) Producer Host Site EOI
  • Precision Sheep Management (PSM) Producer Host Site EOI

Seeking commercial sheep farms to host participatory R&D and demonstration sites
  • The Opportunity

Precision Sheep Management (PSM) is a data-driven approach to sheep production that optimises individual animal performance through systematic monitoring and targeted interventions. It involves collecting, analysing, and applying meaningful data to make evidence-based decisions.

A new MLA/AWI initiative (MLA Project L.LSM.0038) aims to help sheep producers benefit from PSM by.

    • Generating new PSM knowledge through on-farm research and development sites.
    • Showing how PSM can deliver timely and actionable feedback on management decisions via on-farm demonstration sites.
    • Developing business cases detailing the economic benefits of PSM interventions.
    • Delivering in-person workshops and online webinars focussed on implementing PSM in different sheep enterprises.
    • Providing an interactive online platform (Precision Sheep HQ) for producers to ask questions, learn about PSM and share their experiences.

During 2026, we will establish on-farm demonstration sites and on-farm research sites (the ‘PSM producer sites’). We invite you to apply to host a PSM producer site and select which PSM intervention(s) match your interests and the priorities of your sheep enterprise. Please see the PSM Producer Site Information PDF for more details.

Please complete the form below to express your interest in participating in the project as a PSM producer site host.
