    • Track 1: Three (3) Years Professional Experience

      Professional Experience
      Professionals actively involved in the weddings or events industries with three (3) years of work experience (within the past five (5) years).


      Provide Documentation
      Supporting a minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience working full time in the weddings or events industries within the past five (5) years. Experience may encompass non-consecutive roles.


      Supporting Information
      A current resume, in addition to other supporting documentation, such as employment verification from employer/supervisor or a business license plus proof of business ownership. W-2 or 1040 forms alone are not considered as adequate evidence.

    • Track 2: Two (2) Years Professional Experience and Postsecondary Education

      Professional Experience Professionals actively involved in the weddings or events industries with two (2) years of work experience (within the past five (5) years and experience may encompass non-consecutive roles) AND a degree in hospitality or business or related field or a diploma in wedding or event management from an accredited institution.

      Provide Documentation

      Supporting a minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience working full time in the weddings or events industries within the past five (5) years. Experience may encompass non-consecutive roles. Supporting information: A current resume, in addition to other supporting documentation, such as employment verification from employer/supervisor or a business license plus proof of business ownership. W-2 or 1040 forms alone are not considered adequate evidence.

      Supporting Information

      Supporting a degree in hospitality or business or relevant field or a diploma in wedding or event management from an accredited institution. Supporting information: a copy of diploma or transcript.

    • Track 3: Academic Teaching


      Professional Experience
      Hospitality education professionals actively teaching wedding or event hospitality-related topics, with three (3) years of academic teaching (within the past five (5) years).


      Provide Documentation
      Supporting a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a full-time or lead instructor for a hospitality program of an accredited educational institution teaching at least two (2) semesters per year in wedding or event, within the past five (5) years.


      Supporting Information
      A current resume, in addition to other supporting documentation, such as employment verification from employer/supervisor. W-2 or 1040 forms alone are not considered as adequate evidence.

    • Documentation of Professional Experience for Track 1

      Upload the following items:

      • Provide documentation supporting a minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience working full time in the weddings or events industries within the past five (5) years. Experience may encompass non-consecutive roles.

    • Continuing Education Hours 
    • Continuing Education Requirements - All tracks

      (1 contact hour = 0.1 CEU)
    • Continuing education equaling twenty-five (25) contact hours of wedding or event-related education that aligns with the domains of the certification, completed in the past five (5) years is required. Types of accepted education include those offered by: company sponsored continuing education or training and in class or online certificate programs and seminars.

      Only the Following Types of Continuing Education Qualify:

      • Association Chapter Meetings - Will receive 1 hour (0.1 CEU) per meeting *networking time is not considered continuing education
      • Seminars / Webinar / Certificates
      • Hospitality CLIMB® Online Classes - 1-hour (0.1 CEU) per class LEARN MORE

    • Policy and Procedures:

      All examinations will be conducted equally, fairly, and without discrimination based on CWIP policies identified in Certification. 

      · Applicant will be able to schedule their exam when all required steps are completed and based on expiration date and duration of phase + 1 Year(s) from approved application

      · Applicant is responsible for payment unless specified as third party.  Third party payment must be received within seven business days.

      · Exam will be delivered within 72 hours after submitting the application. Please note if exam application submitted on Friday or on a weekend, exam will be released on the following Tuesday.

      · An exam link, access and instructions will be sent directly to the applicant’s email address.  If not received within 24 hours, applicant must email info@certplace.com to follow-up.

      · Applicant will have 48 hours to complete the examination.  Once the exam start, applicant will have to finish and cannot stop during the period.

       

      Exam Results 

      Official scores are available as soon as the exam is completed. The score indicated is final. The identities of candidates are confidential, as is all information concerning them. Information regarding exam results is communicated directly to the candidate. Exam results are never provided over the phone.   

      Retaking the Exam

      The passing score is 70%. If unsuccessful in passing, the candidate may register to retake the exam. Registering for the exam will require paying the exam fee again. There is no waiting period to retake the exam or limit to how many times one can take the exam. However, all attempts must be completed within 1-year from the date of initial application to the certification.  

      Cancellation

      Applicant may not cancel the exam.  If applicant is unable to keep the exam appointment, applicant must tell CWIP administrator their need to reschedule.  If applicant is not eligible to reschedule, exam fee is forfeit.

      Refunds

      Once an exam application is approved, no refunds will be made if applicant simply change their mind or no longer wish to take the exam.

      Refunds may be considered only if an application is made ineligible. A processing fee will be applied. Fees are subject to change at any time and without prior notice.

      Note: If a refund is authorized, the credit will be issued to the original method of payment. It may take up to two (2) billing cycles for a refund to be reflected on a credit card statement.

      Rescheduling Policy

      Applicant may reschedule exam at any time during their eligibility year.  There’s a one-time waived fee for the first request.  The deadline is five business days before exam date or before eligibility year expires.  If the applicant missed to take the exam after their eligibility year only the following reasons will be considered:  

      · Medical or Personal emergencies - A medical or personal emergency is an unplanned event within two (2) days (48 hours) of the exam appointment that prevents the applicant from taking the exam. A medical or personal emergency may apply on a case-by-case basis to applicant or to one of their immediate family members (spouse, child or parent as defined by the Family Medical Leave Act).  Minor medical events or personal obligations that may happen on or near the exam date are not considered medical or personal emergencies.

      If applicant was to encounter a medical or personal emergency, applicant must contact CWIP by email at info@certplace.com or by phone 702-947-7200 X 206.  Applicant must do so within 30 calendar days of the missed event.  CWIP will work with each candidate on a case-by-case basis to decide best course of action. No refunds will be provided.

      Disqualifiers: If applicant miss the exam appointment because he/she is too busy or unprepared, applicant will not receive a refund or any other exception. Work emergencies or projects are not considered personal emergencies

      · Inclement Weather & Local or National Emergencies - applicant will not be assessed a rescheduling fee if CWIP administrator cancels an exam due to severe weather or a local or national emergency.

      · Death in the immediate family – applicant must present death certificate or doctor’s note, must be signed by a licensed physician or mortician, and include contact information

      · Military duty – applicant my present duty letter and must include date and applicant’s name

      · Court appearance or Jury duty – applicant must present court or jury summons, subpoena and must include date and applicant’s name  

      If the applicant missed to reschedule and doesn’t qualify to one of the above reasons, a $50 rescheduling fee will apply.  CWIP administrator will send link to pay and only then it will be rescheduled for exam.

      CWIP Right to Cancel, Invalidate and Withhold Scores

      CWIP reserves the right to cancel, invalidate or withhold the examination score if, in its sole judgment, CWIP has reason to conclude that:

      1. there is a reasonable basis to question the exam score’s validity; or

      2. a testing irregularity occurred before, during or after the administration of the exam; or

      3. a candidate violated the terms of their Attestation; or

      4. a violation of the policies and procedures for CWIP exam administration has occurred.

      Revocation of Certification

      Certification may be revoked for any of the following reasons:

      · Falsification of information on the application form

      · Misrepresentation of work experience or other information on the application form

      · Violation of testing procedures

      · Failure to meet recertification requirements.

      Reasonable Accommodations for Testing

      CWIP and its testing agency, comply with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (42 USCG Section 12101, et. Seq.) and with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, as amended (42 U.S.C. 2000e, et. seq.)  CWIP Council uses the guidelines in these documents to address similar requests made by candidates outside of the United States.

      Note:  Applicant must request testing accommodations before submitting the exam fee to Wedding Industry Professional Administrator.  Accommodation requests should be submitted a minimum of 45 days before the anticipated exam date for consideration and review.

      Wedding Industry Professional Administrator makes every effort to accommodate appropriate and reasonable accommodation requests in accordance with the industry best practices unless fulfilling them might alter the exam or results.  There is no additional charge for testing accommodations.

      English as a Second Language

      The CWIP exams are given only in English. 

      Digital Badge

      CWIP badge will be sent via-email shortly after becoming certified.  Once certified, CWIP badge holder can post their newly obtained digital badge to social networks such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
