Gestalt Institute of Toronto Finding Your Heart Scholarship Application

The Finding Your Heart (FYH) Scholarship is a $5,000 award donated by Deluxson Yogarajah to support an incoming Black or Brown Year One student at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto who demonstrates strong community involvement, leadership, and a clear commitment to completing the five-year psychotherapy training program. This scholarship recognizes students who actively support themselves through their training while remaining grounded in service, creativity, and giving back to their communities.

The scholarship is intended to reduce financial barriers for Black and Brown practitioners who are underrepresented in psychotherapy training and often carry significant personal and community responsibilities while pursuing long-term education. Priority will be given to applicants who show resilience, initiative, and a strong willingness to invest in their own growth, while using their skills, lived experience, and creativity to uplift others.

In order for students to be eligible for this scholarship they must have been accepted into Year One of the Five Year Training Program in Gestalt Psychotherapy.

Be sure to include the following documents when applying for the Finding Your Heart Scholarship:

1. This application form
   
   
2. Letter of Intent: This is the letter of intent that was submitted in your original application into the program.
   Note: Add a section explaining what made you decide to continue your education at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto & how can it support your community efforts if not already included in your original letter of intent.
   
   
3. Acceptance letter from the GIT: Include a copy of your acceptance letter into The Five Year Training Program in Gestalt Psychotherapy.
   
   
4. Confirmation of acceptance to GIT registrar: Please also ensure you have replied to the Registrar with your confirmation of acceptance, signed contract, and paid your deposit.

Note: All documents and information must be sent by May 30, 2026 to be eligible. Incomplete application form and/or application package may result in ineligibility for this award.
