GRBR 2026 Tissue Paper Balloon Launch

All teachers must obtain approval from both GRBR and your school principal in order to attend and have the transportation costs covered.
The Great Reno Balloon Race invites 5th-grade classrooms to discover the wonders and excitement of lighter-than-air flight by participating in the Tissue Paper Balloon Launch taking place on September 10th and 11th, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park.

Teachers are required to attend the offered workshops to participate in the E.L. Cord Tissue Paper Balloon Launch with their classes. During the workshop, GRBR will go over building the tissue paper balloons with your classes, how day-of launches will occur and more.

The 2026 workshop will be taking place on Monday, August 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

*Regardless of previous participation, all teachers are required to take a workshop each year*
