INFORMATION RE: COLLECTING POINTS TO BECOME A 2026 TOP DOG FOR YOUR LEVEL
2026 TOP DOGS GRASS SERIES POINTS COLLECTION!
Collect points the more you play to WIN $$$, Prizes & Bragging Rights to be Medalled the 2026 Grass Top Dogs. There will be a GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE Top Dog awarded at EACH level for 2026 PLUS winners at each tournament!
NOTE: We had an issue last year with the database and so the 2025 TOP DOG WINNERS will be formally announced and receive their formal presentation at the 2026 Pack Opener (they are being notified in advance and given free entry for first tournament as well). Changes have been made to avoid this problem ever again! Huge apologies for this.

You collect points as an individual (not team) the more volleyball you play for additional prizes and the chance to be medalled the top dogs of 2026.

A Leaderboard will be posted AFTER EVERY 2 TOURNAMENTS to show each person’s season points. You get points just for playing and more depending on placement within your level.

You can collect points for:
- Upto 10 Top Dog Tournaments hosted by Tonic Adventures (May 30, June 14, June 20, July 5 - the M2 and W2 tourni, July 18, July 26, August 8, August 16, August 29 and September 6th)
- The FINALE will either be August 29th or September 6th on the long weekend. The long weekend is later than usual in 2026 and thus I'm making sure most people can still make it. There will be a poll on WHATSApp. Decision made no later than May 1st.
- There will still be a September 6th tournament regardless.
- ASKING INTEREST IN WhatsApp Poll: If interested in special event where a team of 4 plays a combination of R4's and R2's as part of the same game. You play a game to 31 - 1 R2 pair plays till someone reaches 10 points, the other 2 R2 pair plays till someone reaches 20 points and then you end it with everyone playing R4's to 31. Score is cummulative - something fun and different?
- 2 Cambie Sports Special Events: May Days on May 24th and Top Gun June 7th
- Salmonfest WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE TOP DOG POINTS - last year it caused a huge problem and it is so much work to input due to the size. It will only be used if there is TIE between particular people. Otherwise Salmonfest will not be counted in the Top Dog Points.
- Points will be allocated as follows for EVERY division (B, A, A+, AA, AAA, Open) - keep in mind in big tournaments that there may be multiple pools in each DIVISION and so winning Top Pool of A OR winning 3rd level Pool of A will be assigned points accordingly.
- 1st = 9 point, 2nd = 7 points, 3rd = 5 points, 4th = 3 points, 5th = 2 points, 6th = 1 point.
- You get 0-1 bonus points if you play B, you get 1-4 bonus points if you play A, 4-6 points if you play A+, 6-8 bonus points if you play AA, you get 8-10 for AAA and you get 10-12 for OPEN - The range is to account for more than one pool per division. Bonus points are to motivate people to play in a higher division/pool and not sandbag, as well as it means your seeding and not only playoffs impact your points!

Each tournament is worth the same amount of points and you do not have to play every tournament - it simply gives you more chances to collect points.

After the 12 tournaments, the top 3 individuals with the most points of every division (B, A, A+, AA, AAA, Open) get bragging rights of being medalled top dogs of 2026 - PLUS we give away $1050 plus extra prizing and there is a big cheque presentation - note we have ADDED A+ as a formal level for 2026.
• 1st gets $100 cash + extra prizes (2025 was long sleeve tee and volleyball) + GOLD Medal
• 2nd get $50 cash + extra prizes (2025 was long sleeve tee and Owala water bottle + SILVER Medal
• 3rd gets $25 cash + extra prizes (2025 was long sleeve tee and gift card + BRONZE Medal

To WIN a division you must have played the majority in that division and be that level (for example, some AAA/Open players at times play with friends in a tournament at an A level and that is fine for the odd tournament when the team is not stacked but that person cannot win the full year top dog honour at the lower level if they are a higher level player! Also if you play regularly at AAA or AA but decide to always register in A+ for fun or to sandbag - you are not eligible for the Top Dog prize of that level if you are CLEARLY a player in the higher division.
People can "confidentially" tell me who they think is doing that and I will monitor or have a conversation with those people. I want to make it FUN and FAIR as much as possible. This is a hard one to control. We really try hard to do our best to give you that!

The extra prizes will include a special Top Dog long tee and other items being designed at the moment.

Prizing will be awarded after EACH tournament - and the TOP DOG money and prizing will be awarded at the FINALE. Food trucks, misters, contests,... We SOLD OUT last year.

For ties they will be determined by: (1) Salmonfest results; (2) who played the greater number at a higher level if they are on the cusp between levels; (3) Who played a greater number of events.
