During a recent survey conducted by Copa-Cogeca, hundreds of farmers across the EU reported that one of the main obstacles on their farms is obtaining administrative permits for on-farm projects. Copa-Cogeca considers that this issue must be brought to the forefront of debates in Brussels, especially at a time when the EU is discussing and organising a new approach to competitiveness.
So far, the permitting issue has mainly been considered in relation to industry. We should collectively demonstrate that the same applies to our sector, and that there is significant untapped potential on EU farms! Unlocking this potential could greatly contribute to competitiveness, sustainability, and innovation.
To put this topic on the EU agenda, Copa-Cogeca will prepare an awareness campaign in the coming months and strongly advocate for policy action. For this campaign, we need your support. Our communication will be built on your testimonies, your experiences with administrative procedures, the difficulties you have faced, and your achievements despite complex processes.
The campaign has two main objectives:
- Engage as many farmers as possible through a central web platform, collecting concrete examples of how administrative burdens are creating significant untapped potential in terms of competitiveness, environmental transition, and technological innovation, and bringing these issues to the attention of EU public opinion.
- Disseminate these stories through our various communication channels (press, stakeholders, and EU institutions) in order to encourage EU decision-makers to place this issue on the regulatory agenda.
If you would like to share your experience but do not wish to disclose personal data or information you consider sensitive, you will have the option in the form to limit the information shared or to submit a more anonymous statement.
Thank you in advance for your support and your initial feedback.
