These committees serve as vital channels for direct involvement and interaction with the organization's leadership. By participating at the committee level, individuals have the chance to immerse themselves fully in the EMGS community and effect real change in its trajectory.

  • Committee Chairs

    Committee Chairs are responsible for overseeing their roles and responsibilities outlined by the committee's charge for the duration of a three-year term.

    Committee Co-Chairs are responsible for supporting the Chair in the oversight of committee roles and responsibilities for the duration of a three-year term. Co-Chairs have the option to succeed the role of Chair when the previous Chair rotates off.

    Committee ECI Co-Chairs are Early Career Investigators within six years of receiving their terminal degree who assist the Chair and Co-Chair with fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of the committee for the duration of a four-year term.

  • Special Interest Group Leadership Opportunities

    Special Interests Groups are collaborative structures where scientists from different backgrounds and career stages can meet and collaborate about a specific area of science related to the genome. SIG meetings provide a space for free-from discussion and short presentations of the key challenges and current research. The SIGs are also responsible for creating proposals for symposia content, keynote speaker suggestions for the annual meetings, and the organization of exciting webinars!

  • SIG Chairs

    SIG Chairs are responsible for organizing SIG activities, including meetings and webinars, communicating with SIG members and other leaders, overseeing symposia and workshop proposals for the annual meetings, and other tasks to ensure successful management and leadership of the SIG for the duration of a two-year term.

  • SIG Co-Chairs

    SIG Co-Chairs are responsible for supporting the Chair with all SIG activities for the duration of a two-year term. Co-Chairs may, but are not required to, succeed the Chair for an additional two-year term.
