Programme Details:
Our Outdoor Water Safety Day gives children the chance to get outside, explore the natural environment, and try a range of fun new activities while learning how to stay safe in and around water. The day will include a guided nature trail walk and talk, watersport sessions, and open water swimming, all supported by qualified staff. Helping them to build awareness, confidence, and respect for outdoor water environments through safe, hands‑on experiences.
When: Tuesday 7th July 2026
What to expect:
We will be running three activities on the day starting with a nature walk and talk around Loughmacrory lead by our Bio-Diversity team. Participants will then have the opportunity to try some Water activities (canoeing/Kayaking/Stand Up Paddle boardingg) delivered by Loughmacrory Paddleclub and we will finish the session with some Open Water swimming, this will provide a taster for participants to try some open water swimming lead by our Swim Ulster Coaches, who will also provide tips and skills on how to behave in a safe and responsible manner in and around open water.
What to bring:
- Wetsuit is recommended,
- Water & a small Snack
- Towel and a change of clothes - Just to note there are toilets available on site, however there is no changing room facilities.
