HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
1. Let Hair Grow to the Proper Length
Hair should be at least ¼ inch long (about the length of a grain of rice). This allows the sugar to grip properly for a clean removal.
2. Gently Exfoliate (24–48 Hours Before)
Light exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells and can reduce the chance of ingrown hairs. Use a gentle scrub or exfoliating mitt—nothing too harsh.
3. Arrive with Clean Skin
Please come to your appointment with clean, dry skin free of oils, lotions, deodorant, or makeup in the treatment area.
4. Stay Hydrated
Hydrated skin tends to respond better to sugaring and may be less prone to irritation.
5. Take Pain Sensitivity into Account
If you’re concerned about discomfort, you may take an over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 minutes before your appointment (if safe for you).
6. Wear Comfortable Clothing
Loose-fitting clothing helps prevent irritation after your service, especially for sugaring.
What NOT to Do Before Your Appointment
1. Avoid Retinol or Harsh Skincare (5–7 Days Before)
Do not use products containing retinol, strong acids, or exfoliating treatments in the area being sugared.
2. No Sun Exposure or Tanning (24–48 Hours Before)
Avoid sunburned or recently tanned skin, as it is more sensitive and prone to damage.
3. Avoid Caffeine & Alcohol (Day Of Appointment)
These can increase skin sensitivity and make the experience more uncomfortable.
4. Do Not Shave Between Appointments
Shaving disrupts the hair growth cycle and can make sugaring less effective.
5. Avoid Heavy Workouts Right Before
Sweaty skin can be more sensitive and harder to sugar properly.
6. Do Not Apply Lotions, Oils, or Deodorant
These create a barrier and prevent the wax from adhering correctly.
