  • Are you ready to revolutionize your teaching practices?

Join the Arizona Educational Foundation at Starline Elementary School for an exciting, hands-on training in classroom microelectronics and space survival, crafted for 4th-12th grade educators at all experience levels. Using the accessible Micro:bit platform, you’ll spend the majority of the session working hands-on with these innovative tools to explore effective ways to integrate electronics, computer science, and AI into your curriculum. Come see how classroom activities can intersect with the Naval Science & Technology focus areas.

The training covers essential problem-solving, engineering, and coding skills, while showcasing electronics connections across content areas such as Science, Computer Science, Educational Technology, Literacy, and Math. You’ll also gain access to our comprehensive STEM Lesson Plan Database, which includes over 2,000 lessons, dozens focused on microelectronics, to support your instructional planning and provide ready-to-use classroom ideas. This session combines pedagogical insights with hands-on practice, ensuring you’re equipped to spark curiosity and critical thinking in your students at any grade level.

The workshop will take place on Saturday, May 30th from 8:30am-3:30pm at Starline Elementary School located at 3150 Starline Dr., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided along with STEM giveaways and raffles. Please bring a laptop computer with you.

We look forward to working with you!

    Microelectronics for Every Classroom

While we will be working with the Arduino-based 30 Days Lost in Space Kit, this day is designed to be platform-independent. The logic you build here, how to engineer a solution to a problem, is directly transferable to any other similar hardware. You’ll leave with a framework for "Naval Tech" missions that you can take back to whatever hardware is currently in your class.
