As a participant in services at Step Three, Inc., you have the right to;
be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness at all times, regardless of your background, situation, or circumstances. You have the right to receive services without discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, disability, or any other protected status. You have the right to be informed of program rules and expectations, fees and payment requirements, attendance and completion requirements, and all program policies and procedures. You have the right to ask questions about services, expectations, and policies and to receive clear and understandable answers. You have the right to participate voluntarily in services unless participation is required by a court, probation, or another agency. You have the right to have your personal information protected in accordance with 42 CFR Part 2 (federal substance use confidentiality law), HIPAA, and Oklahoma law, and your information will not be released without your written consent except in situations involving threats of harm to yourself or others, suspected child abuse, elder abuse, or vulnerable adult abuse, medical emergencies, or court orders or other legal requirements.
Because services may be provided in a group setting, Step Three, Inc. cannot guarantee that other participants will maintain confidentiality. You have the right to request access to your records as permitted by law. You have the right to file a complaint or grievance without fear of retaliation and will not be penalized for expressing concerns about services. You have the right to be informed of any significant changes in program policies, procedures, or services. You have the right to receive services within the scope of this program and to be informed if your needs exceed that scope, and you have the right to be referred to other services or providers if your needs cannot be met within this program.

Step Three, Inc. – Grievance Policy
As a participant in services at Step Three, Inc., you have the right to file a grievance regarding any concern, complaint, or dissatisfaction with services provided, including issues related to treatment, staff interactions, program policies, or respect for your person or property, without fear of retaliation, discrimination, or any adverse change in services. You may submit a grievance either orally or in writing to Step Three, Inc., and you have the right to request a review of your grievance with the Director, who will document the grievance and make every reasonable effort to resolve the issue. You also have the right to request an internal consultation at no cost or seek the opinion of an outside medical or psychiatric consultant at your own expense. If a resolution is reached, you will receive a written summary of the actions taken; if you are not satisfied with the resolution, your grievance may be forwarded to the Board of Directors for further review, along with staff recommendations, and a response will be provided within a reasonable timeframe, typically within one week of receiving the written grievance.
