Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Director (RN) Surgical Services responsible for the direction of the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Status/FTE: FT / 1.0
Shift length: 8 hours
Start Time: 0700
Unit: Surgical Services
Schedule Requirements: May need to work occasional weekends/holidays
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for developing and implementing goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical objectives of the organization.
Directing and evaluating departmental operations including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Planning and monitoring staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Preparing, monitoring, and evaluating departmental budgets, and ensuring that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
Coordinating and directing internal and external audits.
The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care of patients from admission through discharge or transfer.
Provides expert care and education to patients in clinical setting, acts as patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel.
Knowledgeable in clinical nursing procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents.
Manages patient loads in assigned timelines.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school
Experience:
Five (5) years' experience as a Surgical Services RN and as a leader at the Manager or Director level
Must-Haves:
Current (or eligible) Montana RN license
Five (5) years experience as a Surgical Services RN and as a leader at the Manager or Director level
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
Nice-To-Haves:
BLS upon hire
PALS and ACLS within six (6) months of hire
Advanced degree (MSN, Healthcare Administration, or MBA) preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to lead and manage surgical services operations
Ability to oversee patient care delivery and quality outcomes
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage staffing, budgeting, and compliance
Knowledge of clinical procedures, disease processes, and interventions
