Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Matala 'o e Pasifiki Arts & Culture (MOPAC) terms and conditions.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all students, parents/guardians, and participants engaging in classes, workshops, events, or performances held by Matala 'o e Pasifiki, in accordance with Australian laws and regulations, including the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
1. Registration
All students (or guardians for under 18s) must complete a registration form and agree to these terms prior to participation.
Registration is confirmed upon payment of registration fee and is subject to availability.
2a. Fees & Payments
To help us provide the best possible experience for your child/ren, all registration and class fees must be paid according to the schedule provided. (Details will be sent to the provided email after registrations)
*By registering, you agree to the following:
Payments will be automatically deducted from your nominated card on a weekly or fortnightly basis once the 15 week program starts. Please choose below your preference. (card payment setup will be sent via email after registration)
It is your responsibility to ensure sufficient funds are available at each scheduled payment date. If a payment is declined, it will be reattempted. Ongoing missed payments may result in suspension or cancellation of participation until all outstanding fees are settled.
Continued participation in the program is dependent on your account remaining up to date. We are committed to delivering quality, culturally grounded programs for our community, and consistent payments allow us to honour our facilitators, resources, and the spaces we create together.
Student fees cover: Showcase Venue, Practice Venues, Tutors, Musicians, Resources/ Materials, Teunga - costume.
2b. Withdrawal / Cancellation
Grace Period (First 2 Weeks of Academy):
A 2-week grace period applies from the start of the academy.
Families may withdraw during this period with written notice.
Registration fees are non-refundable.
If tuition fees have been paid in advance, 50% of the academy fees may be refunded during this grace period.
After the 2-Week Grace Period
All fees are strictly non-refundable.
Registration fees are non-refundable.
Costume and material costs are non-refundable.
No refunds will be issued for withdrawal after the grace period.
Exceptional CircumstancesExceptional circumstances may be considered at the discretion of MOPAC management.
3. Attendance & Makeup Classes
Regular attendance and punctuality are expected.
Missed classes are non-refundable. Makeup classes may be offered subject to availability but are not guaranteed.
Matala 'o e Pasifiki reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to illness or emergencies with no refund.
4. Participant Conduct
All participants are expected to behave respectfully towards tutors, staff, and fellow students.
Bullying, harassment, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
If your child requires additional behavioural support, we ask that a parent or guardian be present during classes to assist with managing their behaviour.
MOPAC reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any participant for breach of conduct without refund.
5. Health & Safety
All participants must notify tutors of any injuries, allergies, or medical conditions before class. MOPAC complies with local health regulations and strives to maintain a safe environment. In the event of an accident or illness, basic first aid will be administered and emergency services contacted if necessary.
6. Injury Waiver & Liability
By participating, participants acknowledge that dance carries a risk of physical injury.
To the extent permitted by law, MOPAC, its staff, and contractors will not be held liable for personal injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in our classes or activities, unless due to our negligence or breach of legal duty.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
7. Media & Promotions
We may take photographs and videos during classes and performances for promotional use (e.g., website, social media).
By completing this registration and submitting, you give permission for photos or videos of yourself and/or your child/ren to be used for MOPAC promotional and marketing purposes. This may include (but is not limited to) social media, newsletters, flyers, and other public materials.
If you have any concerns or wish to opt out, please let us know when registering.
8. End of Season Showcase
As part of the program, students and the community will share their learnings and creations in an end-of-season showcase.
End of Season showcase will be a ticketed event and open to the public.
9. Privacy
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information collected is used only for administration, communication, and safety purposes and will not be shared without your consent unless required by law.

11. Acknowledgement & Agreement
By submitting your registration you (Parent/Guardian/Adult of legal age) allow you/your child to participate, you acknowledge that:
You have read and understood these Terms and Conditions;
You agree to be bound by them;
You understand your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
