The WINGS Independent Designer Award Presented By NOT!CED Application Form

• The brand must be independent and less than five (5) years old at the time of application
• The designer must be the primary creative lead of the brand
• Open to designers based in Australia 
• The brand must demonstrate a clear and original design identity
• Applicants must have produced at least one realised collection or body of work
• Designers must be available to participate in future WINGS programming and related activities, including potential runway presentation or showcase opportunities

• Creative Identity & Vision: A distinct and compelling design language with a clear point of view. The work should feel intentional, considered, and culturally relevant.
• Innovation & Originality: A willingness to challenge conventions in silhouette, materiality, or presentation. Preference will be given to designers pushing new ideas within contemporary fashion.
• Execution & Craftsmanship: Quality of garment construction, attention to detail, and overall finish. This includes both technical ability and design resolution.
• Cultural Impact & Relevance: An awareness of the broader cultural landscape. The work should contribute meaningfully to conversations across fashion, art, or society.
• Brand Potential: Clarity of direction and the potential for growth. Consideration will be given to how the NOT!CED grant could elevate the brand’s next stage.
• Alignment with WINGS: Designers whose ethos resonates with WINGS’ commitment to independence, multidisciplinary practice, and redefining how fashion is experienced.

The WINGS Independent Designer Award presented by NOT!CED offers a service-based designer grant intended to elevate the recipient’s next phase of creative and brand development.

Winner Prize — $5,000 AUD Designer Grant
The winner will receive a total of $5,000 AUD in NOT!CED production credits, redeemable across the following:

Campaign Photoshoot Package — $2,000 AUD
A fully realised editorial campaign designed to articulate the brand’s visual identity:

Up to 3 looks
15 final edited images (5 per look), including retouching
Inclusive of studio hire, model casting (up to 3 models), set/location design, creative direction, photography, styling, and hair & make-up

E-Commerce / Lookbook Package — $3,000 AUD
A comprehensive visual asset suite to support commercial and digital platforms:

Up to 18 looks
High-resolution e-commerce and lookbook imagery (5 images per look), including retouching
Inclusive of studio hire, model casting (up to 2 models), set/location design, creative direction, photography, styling, and hair & make-up

Runner-Up Prize — $2,000 AUD Designer Grant

The runner-up will receive $2,000 AUD in NOT!CED production credits, redeemable for:

Campaign Photoshoot Package — $2,000 AUD

Up to 3 looks
15 final edited images (5 per look), including retouching
Inclusive of studio hire, model casting (up to 3 models), set/location design, creative direction, photography, styling, and hair & make-up

Additional unretouched or unedited images may be provided at the discretion of NOT!CED.

Service Credit Terms

All prizes are issued as NOT!CED service credits and must be redeemed against the outlined package inclusions. Any services or deliverables beyond this scope may incur additional costs, quoted and approved prior to execution.
