Imani Black Studios invites artists to submit work for consideration in Cyber Dallas: Reloaded, a curated exhibition by Imani Black exploring futurism, online culture, virtual environments, and evolving visual identity through experimental, immersive, and boundary-pushing work across mediums.
Submission Fee: $25 (non-refundable). Includes consideration for up to five artworks.

This open call is for artists with ties to the Dallas–Fort Worth area, both locally and nationally. Artists who are not based in the DFW area must be able to coordinate the delivery or drop-off of their work within the timeline outlined below.
What We’re Looking For
Imani Black Studios is an independent photography gallery and studio presenting exhibitions and experiences rooted in visual storytelling and community.
We are seeking work across the following mediums:
• Photography (film, digital, and alternative processes)
• Cyanotype
• Photo-realistic painting
• Textile-based work
• Mixed media and collage
• Sculpture
• Video and moving image (short film, loops, and projection-based work)
• Digital art
• Installations
We are open to experimental work and concepts that push boundaries and offer new ways of seeing and understanding the world.
You may submit up to five pieces for consideration.
Artists are responsible for providing any specialized materials needed to present their work, including screens, projectors, or custom display elements.
Original Work Guidelines
- All submitted work must be original and created by the artist.
- Work created using digital or generative tools is welcome, but should reflect clear artistic direction and intentionality.
- Plagiarized or uncredited use of another artist’s work will not be accepted.
- Artists are expected to have the rights to all imagery, materials, and content used in their work.
- Imani Black Studios reserves the right to decline work that does not meet these standards.

- Notification of Selection: Sunday, June 7
- Exhibition Dates: June 20 to July 18
- Opening Night: June 20
- Art Pickup Start Date: July 19
What Selected Artists Can Expect
Selected artists can expect:
• A public opening night reception and ongoing visibility throughout the duration of the exhibition.
• Opportunities for artwork to be viewed and acquired by collectors, buyers, and members of the creative community.
• Opportunities for private viewings and exhibition-related programming.
• The ability to showcase and sell work within Deep Ellum’s vibrant arts district.
• Additional opportunities for collaboration and community engagement throughout the exhibition.
All exhibited work must remain installed for the full duration of the exhibition.
Artists are expected to have work available for sale, with the exception of installation-based pieces. Framing and presentation should meet exhibition standards and are subject to curatorial direction.
Imani Black Studios will assist with coordinating the delivery of sold work to collectors.
Important Terms
- All submissions will be reviewed. Final selections will be made based on overall fit, artistic quality, and alignment with the exhibition concept.
- Submission does not guarantee selection or participation in the exhibition.
- Only one submission is permitted per artist. Each submission may include up to five artworks for consideration. Please do not submit multiple applications.
- A non-refundable $25 submission fee is required for consideration. Submission fees support the review process and administrative costs.
- Selected artists will be required to sign an exhibition agreement outlining participation expectations, artwork sales, installation details, and related exhibition policies.
- Imani Black Studios will retain a 30% commission on all artwork sales made during the exhibition.
All applicants will be notified of their selection status by Sunday, June 7, 2026.
