    Links STEM Application

     

  • Established in 1946, The Links, Incorporated is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of women dedicated to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and individuals of African descent.

    The Orangeburg (SC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, founded in December 1964, continues to uphold the legacy of its Founders. Believing that a strong education is the key to a successful life, the chapter is committed to providing opportunities that enhance the quality of life for individuals, families, and the broader community.

     

  • Purpose: The Links STEM Scholarship is designed to support rising junior and senior collegiate students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). This scholarship aims to recognize students who demonstrate a strong passion for STEM fields, academic excellence, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact in their chosen discipline.

    Reward: A non-renewable $2,000 scholarship for financial assistance during the upcoming academic year.

    Qualifications: Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:

    • Be a rising junior or senior at Claflin University or South Carolina State University
    • Be pursing a major in a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
    • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
    • Demonstrate passion and commitment to STEM through academic achievements, extracurricular activities, research, or community involvement

    Essay Requirement: Applicants must submit a minimum 500-word personal statement.

    * Application must be submitted by May 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
